if you wanna help, you can give him all your money, dipshit.

is easy to feel pity for the refugees and do nothing while standing on the *other* side of the wall.

Not so if you yourself are a refugee. This is the same. Easy to talk big when you HAVE money.

Hey, right now i have enough money for myself. Ive managed to save up enough money thru hard work and help from friends so thankfully im satisfied with my money situation now.
It just angers me when i see people like you who say money doesnt matter. It does. It really does. You dont know whats its like when you simply cant buy what you want. Even when you didnt spend that money you knew you buy could anything if you wanted to.
I wanted to travel the world when i was little, i wanted to buy myself a tablet to draw digitally, i wanted a bicycle to ride with friends and yet i had nothing.
My wishes ware just an echo in a dark corridor, too weak and too quiet to reach the end and escape.
Dont say you dont need money.
There is a reason why blind people wants to see, why homless people want a home, why out of all the people, a war veteran wants peace the most.

Money has its practical value as in providing for food and shelter. Everything else is luxury.

Not everyone values money or is attached to the things money can give you like you are.
What you want or desire is entirely subjective.

It doesn't mean they're lying.

Some people simply don't value money like you do.

Which was kind of my point.

Sorry, but you just proved the point of this post. You grew up rich and thus money means nothing to you. I grew up poor, and fuck me sideways if i dont want money.
I loved gaming as a little kid and i still do, but my PC was shit, i didnt have any consoles and i got a new game every year or two. All my friends talked about Halo, bout COD, bout how ps3 is gonna come to stores soon and i would just listen quietly or leave.
My parents would refuse to buy me anything over 20$. I havent had my own room till i was 11. We didnt have an fuctioning owen in our house. I never got a bicycle. I got a pencil and a pizza once for birthday. We didnt even have enough money to repair what was broken, so i once ended up sleeping on a matress with my little brother for 6 months in the winter.
I was always and i still am poor.
But you know, whats the worst of it all? My parents grew up in rich families. They didnt value money what so ever. They told me money doesnt bring happiness. They acted in the same way you just did.
But when my friends went out riding on their bicycles i stayed at home cus i fucking didnt want to be the only one walking. My mom didnt work, and my dad ran his own buisness but since he was a lazy fuck, he made only enough money for us to survive and a little extra. The extra was spend on meanlingness shit bought by my parents without any regards for saving money. My dad spend 1/3 of the money on ciggarets and beer. The rest of the money was used on food and living expenses. The money i saved and earned by myself, my parents took from me to " pay the taxes".
So please, i dont know what kind of a person are you, so please dont take any offense on this, but i HATE you for your stance on money.
You make absolutely furious. I cant stand how you take that money for granted. Money is like a drug. You can live, 5 -10 days without using it, but then the witrdrawal effects kick in. Imagine not having any oppurtunity, any chance to afford what you wanted. Imagine everyone having a fucton of this and you having none.
That is how i felt every fucking day.
So when someone like you kicks in and says he doesnt need money to be happy, i get so mad, so fucking immensly mad, i want to explode. So sorry if i was rude, but with all due respect go fuck yourself and your stances on money.
#144 - anon (07/06/2016) [-]
Well said my friend, rich fucks need to pie it.
#135 - alexanderh (07/06/2016) [-]
I grew up living comfortably. We weren't rich, but we had enough money to buy what we needed. I was never as poor as it sounds like you were, but we couldn't afford to buy anything we wanted, and I only really got new games at christmas, my birthday, and when I had saved enough money from my allowance (~5 dollars every two weeks, later raised to ~10) to buy one myself.
Right now, I've moved out and I earn enough money to get by. I have enough money to pay rent and utilities, buy food, and occasionally spend a little money on a hobby.

I have enough money that the lack of it doesn't make me unhappy, but more money wouldn't make me happier. Sure, I could afford to buy more games, but I only play around 5 anyway. And sure, I could afford to upgrade my PC with a new CPU to replace the current 5 year old one. And yeah, I could afford to upgrade my costume for LARPing. But for me, the journey of getting to those things gives me as great, if not greater, enjoyment than having it.
#83 - auryn (07/06/2016) [-]
I hope that one day you'll have plenty of money too, so you might realize that it's not what really matters in life.

I feel bad for you for being this resentful and jealous. I hope you become a more happy person in the future.

Damn it sounds like that $2000 PC and electric guitar is nothing but a huge burden on you. I would happily rid you of your misery and take said items off your hands. No need to thank me, just trying to be a good Samaritan.
#34 - robuntu (07/06/2016) [-]
No offense, but I think it would be more correct to say that 'Money doesn't buy *you* happiness'. It sounds like you aren't driven by material things, but certainly lots and lots of people are.

To say that 'Money doesn't buy happiness' you'd have to assert that all the people who say money brings them happiness are wrong.

I like money.
Money makes me happier. It also avoids me being sad. There are things I don't enjoy doing - without money, I have to do them. With money, I don't. I don't enjoy cooking - with money I can buy food! I enjoy the internet and my computer and my house. I've lived in a 400sq. ft. basement apartment and rode a bicycle to work every day.

It sucked balls.

Now I have money. It's so much better. Every single time it rains or snows I'm happy that I can drive to work instead of riding a bicycle. Feels great. At night, when it's quiet and I don't have to deal with neighbors living above me playing music or fighting or talking or whatever - it makes me happy.

Money is great. Basically anything I want, money will get me.

everyone comes to the US for College education, Americans who have house, tv refrigerator and a car can still be considered poor.

civil rights did take the US longer. that i will admit.

">everyone comes to the US for College education"

Meanwhile, fuckload of American students go do their medecine/law to McGill because it's more affordable and better rated than 95% of USA state colleges. After, they go back at USA. Yeah, don't mind building your career on Canadian taxpayers.

If you're referring to Havard, Yale, etc... it's plain wrong that everyone "come to US" for it since it fucking cost insane amount of money for yearly tutions. Not "everyone" can afford that.
