Comfortable In Skin.

Cis is short for Comfortable In Skin

Not to say what you said is invalid

That seems like an extremely unnecessary phrase.

That may be a helpful mnemonic device, but the terms cis and trans have had approximate meanings (ie same and "changed") in many scientific fields (isomerism in organic chemistry, for example) for far longer than the radical feminists have used the terms.

In organic chemistry, a cis- molecule is one that, in layman's terms, has certain parts matching up with other parts (eg functional groups and hydrogens on a 4 bonded center molecule are on opposite sides). A trans- molecule is one that has certains parts mixed with other parts (functional groups and hydrogens on a 4 bonded center molecule are mixed, one on each side).

These terms are latin, cis meaning "on the same side of" and trans meaning "on the other side of"

I understand. I don't feel like it helped me, but I understand.
