alternatively it might just be based on the personality of the dog, I mean some dogs chase horses, some viciously attack cars at risk to their own life, some like water, some hate bathes, some bark at company, there's some traits that aren't really inherit to a type or breed or trained in they just sort of pick up.

I think it's probably based on the type of dog, I never exactly trained my dog 'not' to eat poop and I kinda doubt they trained their dog to eat poop.

I know little of politics so let me jump in here to throw around some ideas

I also think raising the min wage is a bad idea.

but using your logic (and mine) would lowering the minimum wage lower the cost of living?...
User avatar #9 - samples (02/17/2015) [-]
My thrown together answer: No. I don't see corporations going "People are making less money, let's lower prices."
#14 - justtocomment (02/18/2015) [-]
They do that already. Why do you think a t-shirt in a store in New York City costs 30 bucks but the same shirt in a store in bum-fuck Texas costs 12?
User avatar #11 - arzyk (02/18/2015) [-]
believe or not it does happen, simply because of free market. If store A lowers their prices due to less overhead expenses and store B does not, where are you going to spend your money? Store A, because your dollar goes further there. Also gas prices have a lot to do with the overall cost of living. Lower gas prices = lower shipping costs. Every product in every store is shipped at some point or another. Less overhead = lower prices, lower prices = more buying power.

I'll get off my soap box now

We have quick releases on all of our combat parachutes in the event of a water landing, I'd imagine they have them on para sail harnesses as well.

I'm sure the speedboat would turn around
#14 - amuzen (02/17/2015) [-]
yeah but they're quite a bit back and it would depend on how quickly the people driving the speed boat would notice/ could get back to them as well as immediately after they hit the water how quickly the people on the speed boat would be willing to jump in after them + whether or not their clothes/parachute are particularly water absorbent.

Again they would haven't much longer than a 1, maybe 2 minutes after they hit the water before they're dead and that entire time they would be dragged down by the parachute/their clothing, it's actually kind of a bitch as is to swim in the ocean, wearing full clothing and a parachute it would be practically impossible, plus the parachute would land on top of you and restrict the movement of your arms.

Assuming the speed boat turned around the moment it was cut and managed to get there before they hit water even then it would be problematic because they need to drag the person out of the water before they started to sink. It's still pretty life threatening.

it's not just about the pride. I want to be part of a team, a select few, and do things outside of the normal civilian life, limited to the city you work in. I want to have a varied job that's physical and outdoors, with a lot of teamwork, excitement, sense of accomplishment, thrill, danger...that kind of stuff.

Also, I like the idea of doing things that benefit society from behind the scenes without them ever knowing how much you really sacrificed.

All that being said, I do believe a good doctor is a hero that we can't do without. So are many other people who bust their butts every day to help keep society running. Those people are often invisible and underpaid. But the things that suit the criterias that I have... it's probably the military life. Where else can I get paid to shoot guns, stay in great shape, spend time outdoors with my peers, travel the world?
#91 - amuzen (02/17/2015) [-]
could be some sort of rescue worker, only thing you lose out on there is shooting guns.

well there's the peace corps, albeit you wouldn't make as much money and you wouldn't get to shoot guns, it could later help with student loans and it looks good on resumes so you could use it to apply for scholarships and the sort.

There's also International aid work, which is basically the same thing but with money, although that requires some sort of actual skill that could make you useful which chances are you'd have to work towards before hand, it's not a terrible idea to spend your youth in college even though there is a strong temptation to get out and see the world right out of highschool.

there's English teacher, couple of months to get a certificate that qualifies you to teach english abroad and there's tons of cool places you could travel. Again no shooting guns and the excitement levels aren't as good but you can make enough money to get by and you're allowed to opt out whenever you're done with it.

Working in travel in and of itself would let you see the world as well, you could be a ship hand on some sort of boat, or a flight attendant rather easily and those travel the world, albeit no glory/danger/shooting, plenty of adventure.

Archaeology and geology are also travel jobs although to be honest I don't much know what those imply.

The being part of a select few and secretly helping to keep society running things are kind of romanticized concepts to so I can't really give any suggestions there.

All I'm saying is if you're having any sort of second thoughts about the military because the majority of the people who lived through it are basically saying it's doesn't match up with your idealized image of it, chances are you should take a second glance at your options.

Speaking as a U.S. Army Infantryman, are you willing and able to lay your own life on the line just because you were told to do so? If so, then yes, the military is a good choice. There's a lot of benefits to joining, but there's also drawbacks. I don't know everything as I've only been in for a year, but if you have any questions, throw them at me and I'll see what I can do to help give you a clearer picture.

Seriously though, that thing doesn't exist. Wikipedia lists the age at which most animals become sexually mature, so that's generally a pretty good guideline. Quite a few people also have lexicons spanning multiple books and lots of different topics, and they usually have the sexual maturity age for common animals. Some lexicons will have information about specific subspecies (like different kinds of birds or dogs), sometimes with information about reproduction, which always has the sexual maturity age, at least from what I've seen so far.

Well, we do, but it has other information about the animal. And legal age of consent for the animal is not specifically stated. It's called a lexicon.

Basically, the legal age of consent is the age they sexually mature. Fairly simple, to be honest.

You're wrong for two reasons:
1: The legal age of consent for humans in Denmark is 15.
2: Animals become sexually mature at a different age than humans. A dog, for example, becomes sexually mature after roughly 3 years, if I remember correctly. Assuming I am right on this point, fucking a 3 year old dog is legal, but fucking a 2 year, 364 day old dog is not.
