biggest problem with the one is FUCK THAT BATTERY LIFE lol
#6 - amuzen (06/24/2014) [-]
I've had no problem with the battery life so much as

it overheats pretty quickly
while I'm in the middle of drawing it'll stop registering the pen and register the side of my hand instead, then it will take a few moments to register the pen
no matter how many times I calibrate it, the pen is always off center and it becomes more so throughout the day ( I have to recalibrate it every day)
the pressure sensitivity is wonky it just turns off a lot
there's only the one kind of pen that's compatible, it's pretty uncomfortable, feels sort of cheap, and it's over 30 dollars.
There's only 1 usb slot so if you want a mouse AND a keyboard you need something to split it (Or you have to shell out a little over 120 dollars for their ludicrously overpriced keyboard that feels about as good as your average 10 dollar keyboard)
The screen is a bit to small for most drawing applications.
every now and then it glitches out and the touch screen stops working gotta restart the computer which takes about 4-5 minutes.
When it first came out there was a point where windows updated, it wanted me to type in my google password to log onto the computer but it wouldn't bring up the touch screen keyboard to actually allow me to type in the password so I had to go buy a USB keyboard and use that to turn on (combined with the occasional glitch where I had to do a complete restart every couple of hours or the touch screen would go bizzare this was especially frustrating) to this day occasionally the touch screen keyboard just refuses to show up although most of time not when I'm trying to log in so much anymore so I can bring it up manually.
when I was at the Microsoft store I bought a cord+dongle (50 dollars total) that they said would let me hook it up to my desktop and use it as a more traditional art tablet but when I did it just acted as another touch screen with no pressure sensitivity.

Don't get me wrong, I love it, but it has a lot of flaws, I feel like I bought something in Beta.

Nah, it's kinda stupid but all my accounts had Zen in them for about 8 years (Zenryoko, ZenRyugami, Zen Knight, Grimzen etc etc) and when I first started on this site I was playing a lot of Amumu in league of legends (dominion had just come out and Amumu was fucking amazing on that+ I got the little knight Amumu skin for cheap and I thought that was awesome)

So I figured Amuzen would be a pretty cool combination of my fave champ at the time and my old internet name, especially since it formed a sort of play on the word 'amusing' which I felt was pretty fitting for this site since in general that's pretty much how I would sum up the entire experience.

Fanboy shitholes? I haven't even played the game and you look more like the bandwagon person here. You watched a Let's Play and complained because they person playing the game only used one combo, not even bothering to check if there were other playthroughs that did it differently, and then preceded to talk shit about something that you really have barely any context of. For combat you are given two swords, an additional weapon. Spells (signs) and potions.
You get a silver sword (deals higher damage to monsters, lower damage to humans), and an iron sword (+humans, -monsters) and a tertiary weapon of your choosing.
The enemies are obviously devided into monsters and humans, but are further devided into fast, regular and slow enemies.
Fast enemies will dodge your attacks, and slow enemies have a shit ton of health so you'll be whacking at them for a while.
To remedy this you are given stances. In fast stance you have a quicker attack, but lower damage and heavy stance you have a slower attack but higher damage and i think there's an aoe stance but i can't quite remember since i played the game so long ago.
When you go into a fight, you have to think about what you are fighting, what their class is, how many there are and whether or not they have some special abilities which will wreck your shit.
While you are fucking with swords and stances you also have signs to worry about, which are borderline essential if you want to survive, and they add another layer of tactical depth since they have a lot of utility such as stuns, possesions etc.
And to add a bit of frosting on top of all that, you need to prepare for fights in the way of potions. You have to collect ingredients from around the map and think about what you are going to be fighting so you can potion up accordingly , and yes this is also borderline essential on the true difficulty.

The story is fun. Let's face it, everything is two-dimensional dark fantasy nonsense these days, but the world of witcher is fun and full of characters, history and interesting creatures.. i'm not going to harp on the story thought.

In short, you'll struggle to find anything with as much depth in an RPG as the Witcher. It's hands down one of the best RPGs ever made, and trumps anything that has come out in recent memory.

Bet you won't be able to run that shit on ultra at 60 fps. And if you play on something more than easy as fuck difficulty, then you need to use traps and evade and bombs and daggers. Also the hardest difficulty ends the game when you die. So it's probably impossible on the hardest difficulty.

Play it on hard (The way it's meant to be played) and you'll change your tune about combat in a hurry.
The plot is based on the works of Andrzej Sapkowski which include over 6 novels and several short stories. So 'no' to everything you just said about the plot.
And the graphics look a bit old because the game came out in 2011.
#37 - amuzen (06/20/2014) [-]
does playing it on hard give you better combos and make it so things flow more dynamically? Cuz the videos I saw for combat where just him doing a single combo, dodging back, stepping forward, doing the same combo, dodging back and repeating, and he did that exact same thing in a ton of different fights.

Also just because it's based on books written by someone that got out 6 books doesn't mean it won't be a generic two dimensional fantasy plot. The dragonlance series is a generic 2 dimensional fantasy plot and that has like 30 books.

I guess I'm not really trying to say it looks like an AWFUL game just that it looks pretty second rate and isn't really the kind of thing of game I would want to spend my time on.

Although yeah, maybe you're right perhaps it's the best game around and it just looks boring as fuck.

I honestly couldn't get into it because they said "fuck" every 5 seconds. It seemed like the studio that made it was trying super hard to make it a grown up game but it was set in medieval times, even if that word did exist back then, nobody ever said it. Skyrim only says "damned", or "bloody hell" every once in a while, and dark souls I dont remember any cursing. I'm not saying I can't handle the language, but it just made the environment and the story feel fake and stupid to me

tl;dr- Don't sacrifice a games story to make it seem more M rated.
Pic related. I feel like I quote alot.
