50k a year? Im going to be an electrician in a year. And the whole job market isnt looking too good. i will probably be lucky if i manage to get 10k a year.

most students i Denmark get about 30k a year.

The government pays us 1000Usd (5839Dkk) a month while we are studying. (including the whole education on top of that)

I know that feel. I really prefer to shop local, and I make enough money to afford it, but my wife is obsessed with getting the best deal. Gets old.

I get the best deals at regional stores. I go to Walmart less than once a month.
if you find a store that doubles or triples coupons, I'm sure you can help her break her wm addiction.

btw, I feed a family of 4 on $100/week. And that includes paper towels and what not. AND I always have extras to stock up or share with friends/food pantries. I save around 50% off the Walmart prices with just a few hours work every week. I figured it out one month and I'm basically earning $10+/hour by shopping smart.

no I mean the test had a total out of 200 points on it and that particular question was worth 20 of those 200 points
They didn't tell us what questions we got right or wrong, a month and a half later we just got a paper on the wall with everyone's student numbers on it and a list of final scores in percentile. my Percentile, 93% was at the top of said sheet and was the highest score in the class, it also brought me from a D+ to an A- in a single stroke at the very end of the school year since that particular test was worth 50% of our final grade, which in turn won me 2000 dollars worth of scholarships and made my grade high enough to go to the college I wanted to go to so it was pretty emotional for me.

Everyone was asking who it was that got the 93% and I just played dumb and pretended like I didn't know the teacher just gave me the biggest shit eating grin ever it was pretty fucking sweet.

in the very end of highschool we were asked to write one story about "an emotionally intense moment from your past" during the English Provincial finals, they gave a word limit of 500 but no cap and as much extra paper as you needed so I rushed through the exam in 45 minutes then spent the next 2 hours and 15 minutes writing a 12 page recount of my high school years from the perspective of two people inside my head, one being me as a student, a now decrepit and weather beaten old man that's tired of life, and the other being me as a young independent adult with the two both recounting experiences in a philosophical debate of whether not everything so far was worth it and what we should do next and throughout the story both would just recount different times from my life going back from when I was a young child to the now with the old man telling stories of the what was and the young man telling stories of the what could be.
I titled it 'a twilight eves transgression' and it was the most emotional thing I've ever made and to date one of the most emotional moments of my life, it was worth 20 out of 200 points on the test and they didn't return it or any of the other things for the test, all I got to know about the one person who ever got to read it was that two months later the results of the test came in and I had a 93%, the top percent in the class which I suppose means they liked it.

In my experience writing essays, creativity has little to do with the actual product. You just have to pull as much smart sounding stuff out of your ass and give the teacher exactly what they expect to hear.
User avatar #2 - fantasma (03/21/2014) [-]
I liked it when they asked for a long story.
Short stories were ghey.
Essays were poop.
#3 - amuzen (03/22/2014) [-]
They never once asked us for a long story in English during school and I think that's a terrible shame seeing as how a significant part of making video games is writing stories so now I need to know how to write things that actual people would read and find engaging and all of the techniques involved in writing essays are terribly counter productive.
Definitely feel like English classes need to be a bit more Liberal in the united states.

That'd be true for most wildlife, but the animals around our school were really hostile. It was actually a serious problem for the admin because hey were always fighting and killing each other in the courtyards and playgrounds. That and the fact the little shits who did this kept the animals in lockers, which did nothing to help them calm down after being thrown into a sandbox with another squirrel/rat/turtle/rabbit while 20 prepubescent kids screamed at them.

Beating Mihawk is Zoro's ultimate goal. If it had been accomplished already, there wouldn't be much room for his development. It's debatable whether Sanji has already accomplished his "All Blue", because he said himself that the mermaids of Fishman Island were his All Blue. That seems more like something that they would have to come across by chance though, since Luffy ultimately decides the destination.

Celestial Dragons and the Revolutionaries is more or less just a constant power struggle. I don't think something like that will be resolved until the end of the series.
