It's a sport it entertains people gives them motives, dreams so please start doing something productive yourself unlike speaking to some random idiot like me on the internet about drugs, just move on

Sorry about the broken English, but I wanted to mock your hypocrisy properly

Yes, I can find someone just by knowing their name and general location. Do you know why? Because a person isn't limited to predetermined dialog choices. Pretend you fucking asked a local of they know where Jerry lives/what he looks like, after you got to his neighborhood. Depending on the developers for emersion in a rpg is hit-and-miss at best. Use your imagination.

Well in the situation you described you are asking someone from the town who would know Jerry and where to find him. That is completely realistic and includes dialogue just as it would in real life. If I told you to find "Jerry near the church in New York City" you wouldn't be able to find him right away. You would ask people where the church is or if they knew Jerry. You wouldn't follow a magical arrow to his exact destination.

The magic compass, usually. I feel like my character should automatically know where all the nearby monuments and major cities are in his home country.
User avatar #196 - amusingtoaster (08/23/2014) [-]
Not only is it not your home country in pretty much all of he Elder Scrolls games, but the compass normally always points you to a person or building. If I told you to find someone just by their name or a building just by its shape somewhere in your country could you do it automatically? No. You couldn't. Plus, The Elder Scrolls gives your character a map to find find major cities and monuments which is realistic and immersive.
