Well, considering we don't have a godly authority to ask for clarification, I think some of it is just simply too vague. Not that the example we're talking about is especially good but who are you to say its wrong?

My interpretation of it being spiritual still stands, even more so with the next line "God hath been to you Most merciful" Feels like hes trying to guilt trip you into staying for all it has done. It's more literal when you live in certain places that actually kill you if you don't come back after a period of time.

I mostly agree with you but I don't feel like you're willing to admit that both corrupt and different interpretations can exist.

oh yeah, a lot of it can be interpreted into a lot of things. religion is a constant and tumultuous argument. I was just referring to that particular issue. For example, depending on how you define certain parts of the book, hell may or may not be eternal according to the book. many, many parts are open to interpretation.
But corruption comes from the institution. Assuming, whatever a preacher defines as the "correct" interpretation seems just lazy. I am very pro-personal interpretations of whatever you choose to believe in. No matter what your beliefs are, I think it should be an introspective exploration.

ps, I like how we started out insulting each other, but ended up amicable at the end.

Already kind of going over it with someone else. It's basically open to interpretation.
Also, its stupid to call someone ignorant when they already admitted it in the first line of their post. Anyways, everything after my initial post was pretty much shit shit flinging for laughs.

Why can't people just run with the shit posting anymore? You guys are ass wipes. He also kind of called me a smart ass, he totally deserved it.

"so all of this smart ass saying is in vain but I suppose some people like to have fun by being ignorant"
How is that not directed towards me?

ohhh, were you that anon he replied to? that explains ur aggressive reply more then. Carry on probablyyourdad.

but in regards to the debate on suicide; if you are actually interested in the debate:
"But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual good-will: Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily God hath been to you Most Merciful!"
Qur’an 4:29 - 4:30

Seems pretty clear cut, unless you want to distort it in a way that fits your agenda, most people would think "Oh okay, don't kill myself", not "Don't kill yourself unless you want to blow yourself up for the sake of the jihad of killing the western infidels".
Islam is a vehicle they use in a land ruled by that religion, to acquire them power and influence with the least amount of resistance. Yes they can just go the way of let me gain power through fighting bloody civil battles or you could find clerics willing to preach what you want and then anyone who even tries to argue gets shunned by the community and prosecuted. The people end up doing the work for you. This shit is made even a thousand times easier when the government is theocratic. Corruption is natural.

also.. Too many people take random racist banter as facts, and they keep regurgitating it thinking its undisputed. I like to crush it, wherever i see it.

"But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual good-will: Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves"
It doesn't matter how ridiculous the reason because it happens. They could easily say it was talking about the spiritual aspect of life like joining another religion or leaving islam could be interpreted as destroying yourself.
That's all muslims do is fucking twist and contort what their book says and argue with each other about what it says.

See muslim extremist or are they just following their book more closely than everyone else?

You are totally right. You can say it means anything, if you wanted it to mean, no matter how clear it is. The actual arabic word used is "kill" though. But if you have an agenda, and want to somehow gain religious legitimacy, you can say it means whatever.

But for someone to interpret it in a way that lets you straight up blow yourself up along with innocent people and think in any possible way you are doing the right thing was what I meant when i said "unless you're delusional".

mmmm, how so? All you said was a bunch of insults directed at the person, not at his point; and how you don't want to read about the fact he was presenting, even though he/she didn't direct that statement at you.
At no point did you address the actual fact which was: Quran says Suicide gets you to hell, so they are going to hell anyways.
