You really do not remember that show correctly the ending had them be missing which is why the kids were left with the dad and it shows them back on earth to make their journey back home to said kids. After the incident with finding out he's killing people he refuses to fly that machine again and I think he leaves the ship. I'm not sure it has been a while.

I think you taken what I said more personally then I intended. There is a difference between disliking something and thinking something sucks.

For example, Madoka deconstructs Magical Girl shows, I have no interest in Magical Girl anime in the slightest. The result is I know very little about them and I have no interest to correct that. However I enjoyed Madoka because of how deconstructive it all is. But does that make me a snob? No because I didn't think the genre was terrible, or incapable of telling compelling stories or inspired art before hand. I just don't care enough to find out because, as I said earlier, I don't care.

What I meant by snob was something akin to how some critics dismissed and condemned "High fantasy" before the rise of shows like "Game Of Thrones". The ones I'm talking about didn't just dismiss the genre, they felt it was objectively a genre incapable of telling good stories. What I'm getting at is the paradox of not knowing anything about something, and yet also believing you are then capable of rending judgement on it as a whole without doing your research. Again, this is a very specific pattern of behaviour and thought processes that doesn't apply to many.

Tl;dr Having preferences doesn't make you a snob. Thinking your preferences are objectively better just because their yours does.

Uh. Not really, the difference being that those things are not just classics if you're a fan. They are regarded as classics universally, part of that being their sheer popularity.

Weebishness is a niche market.

Not to mention Shinji was fucked in the head from the start and a little bitch compared to a fucking 6th grader.

Evangelion tries to point out how ridiculous mecha tropes are but fails because the author is a misery-mongering depressed wreck.

They'd been working on it since 2010 though... They took forever to get it released.
Everybody else sort of beat them to the punch, lol
