Yeah definitely. But the sights and culture is why I go there. The city's great when you're young, but I'd like to settle down someplace near the shore, like Red Bank or Spring Lake.

Do not attempt any further communication.

What's the point of living without the risk nor promise of emotional attachment?

There's billions of people on this planet; and I respect you for playing it safe, but sometimes just a little faith and confidence is required.

That's the spirit. Humans, we're social creatures. Beings of community. It's a shared experience after all, was learned from two places. Personal research, and others. Nasty relationships are plentiful in some people, but they make you a stronger person; one or two tragedies is no reason to give up. Mathematically speaking, you're only going to end up with one person; why on earth would every relationship work, if this was the case?

No shame in being an open person.

Here read this thing I wrote. You might like it <.<;

As a species; we call ourselves "Human." This is why it surprises me when it seems people forget this little five letter word. Only in times of distress do we ever say the phrase "I'm only Human." As if it is some kind of imperfection. "Human" is so much more than a simple two syllable word denoting flaw and folly.

It denotes emotion, culture, ideas, innovation, community and otherwise. So why is it that we consider this to be some kind of flaw; why is showing emotion, both negative and positive always met with a finger pressed to the lip?

I believe that this is wrong. That people shouldn't hide their feelings behind pseudo kindness. I believe people should be proud of who they are and what they feel, and shouldn't be afraid of other humans' judgment.

If all manner of men are imperfect, then what right have we to cast the shackles or judgment upon another? Never be afraid to be who you are.

I would never call myself an intellectual. Even though I am. Particularly in cultural things. Writing, Music, History, Politics, Language, Literature, etc. But also in sciencey things. But That's cause when I was a boy, I wanted to be an astronaut.. Still do. Physics and the like is fascinating af to me.
If I were to be commended on anything; it's that I balance science and faith in my life, understanding that the two are not mutually exclusive, and I can be a spiritualistic person while retaining scientific value. Kinda comes with being a nerdy environmentalist >.>
There are people who have enough life experience to understand the nature, beauty, and yet, simplicity of human life such as myself.

And then there are neckbeards who shout on the internet about religion and politics; as if faith or belief were something to be debated. People who cannot respect others' opinions are fools. Damn fools.

Also Rush is the **** <3

Also also. I think the operative problem with humans is that we're so damn curious, even in times of folly, our inquisition never falters; we're always just so starstruck with awe and wonder about the things around us. Unlike any other mammal, we're free to wonder and wander, all the same. Comes with being a Nomad; I feel. But the trouble with this is, is that sometimes, we ask too many questions, or wonder things that shouldn't be wondered. It's when we ask the questions that cannot be answered do we see our nature staring back at us.

#321 to #320 - satrenkotheone

MFW I lived with my mother for 4 months last year.
She knew I had depressive tendencies since I told her, yet when my birthday rolled around she didn't even walk up the stairs to wish me happy birthday. Pretty much the last nail in the coffin for my relationship with my mother. (Not to mention her neglect for my two half brothers who had to live off ******* ramen for weeks if not months because of her inability to sell of some items like iPads and ****)
My sister and I are close-ish, we don't talk often but she's the closest real family I have, even if she's only my half sister.

And I wonder sometime how conventional families are.

I grew up with Eastern Orthodox Immigrants in NYC as a homosexual. They had a pretty meh attitude to it. Didn't really care tbh. Family comes before religion, they always said. And I respect my family all the more for it. I miss my ma, a lot.

And you should get that checked, radiation poisoning is bad.

Getting intense. Around here everyone is so different, so much so that no one stands out. Everyone is the same in the sense that they're extremely expressive. It's terrible.

Iunnoh. I like you.
#301 to #300 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
Well neither of these are good.

I know, I'm great. Lots of people like me. For some reason.

I like you too.
#298 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
omfg yes I do. Living in a major city is terrible. Literally the same situation but no privacy, more people to not like, and everything is expensive.

#299 to #298 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
Hey here in Norway everything's expensive everywhere and don't forget the Law of Jante where if you stand out YOURE A ******* **** AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD!

Yes, very sad.
#296 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
Wish I knew what that was like. I hate NYC

That's terrible; you have such a beautiful brain.
#297 to #296 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
No you don't. It sucks.

It's dead. Kaputt.
#294 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
That's terrible. I'm social AF. I love going places. But then again I'm a giant. So it's ez, Just pick up or push people like you out of the way x3

Yeah. Mayans too. All Central American Civlizations were quite peculiar. Northern American Faiths were fascinating. A lot of them have historical ties to East Asian folk religions as well. Not like Shinto or Tengriism, but their predecessors.
#295 to #294 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
Well I'm not antisocial, I just live in a tiny village where I know everyone and I have no real interest in knowing the people here since except for a few but they're all either busy or some other stuff so I don't want to interrupt them and ****.

Yeah I get what you mean.

God damnit my brain stopped working.
#292 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
But you'd still be tiny, and that's gonna be adorable af. Try not to get squished~

YEAH. Aztecs had some strange faith. the Inuit (Eskimos) had a really awesome mythos too though.
#293 to #292 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
Don't worry, I'm good at not getting squished... I don't leave the house.

******* savages.
#290 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
You're small in general for a guy. But don't worry; it's adorable. Nothing wrong with small feet, either xP

Oh. Yeah. Totally. Most peaceful Religion NA/EU. 100% Agree. (Kidding. Obv not.) I dunno. Organized religion is strange. I like to have a personal relationship with the spacemen.
#291 to #290 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
Well then again I won't be a guy for that much longer... hopefully.

Well could have been worse... like Natuatl or some crazy Aztec ****.
#288 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
I usually wear boots cause of it. Hard to find decent looking shoes in my size. Oh well. At least I have a boot/foot fetish and date people who do usually as well. So it works out >.>

Sikhism is fascinating because it really is a religion of peace. Took the best of Islamic Scholasticism and Hindu philosophy.
#289 to #288 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
Well... if that's your thing. My feet are... small-ish for a guy.

But Islam is a religion of peace i-infidel.
#286 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
Mine are like 48,5 in EU, I believe. God I love being a giant~

Yeah. It's pretty fascinating. Cultural diffusion is interesting. Especially Sikhism.

Huh. Had a classmate who had 50 when we were in 8th grade. I use 41-42.

Never studied the Sikhs but they seem like an interesting bunch to say the least.

My boots are size 14. I'd crush you. It'd be easy; Shrimp

This is true. Buddhism is quite peculiar as a faith. A lot of sects and subsects. Zen Buddhism is pretty fascinating, but Shinto, I had thought, was the folk religion of japan.
#285 to #284 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
I don't know my foot size in Americanese.

yeah Shinto is the native Japanese religion but when Buddhism got to Japan the Japanese kinda went "eh **** this lets mix it with our own stuff"
#282 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
Not if I stomp on you first, squirt xP

Yeah. Buddhists by any means were not exactly a peaceful people, regardless of what the modern world believes. Also yeah. You're right. That is infact what Kamikaze is
#283 to #282 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
You can't stomp what you can't see!

Nope. Then again Japan is Shinto-Buddhist and not truly Buddhist.
#280 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
Teeny tiny :3
More like they got recked by storms.
And then the Japanese became turbo animist for a while there.
#281 to #280 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
I'll punch you in the shin!

Yeah, Kamikaze. Divine wind. Lern ur history, nab
And then the Buddhists decided to spread the word of Buddha... by force.
#278 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
Sorry; I just love short people x3 Also I'm teasing

Yeah exactly. I mean. Turkey has a pretty isolationist policy going on right now. But historically speaking, European Nations couldn't really be isolationist. They're so intwined in the business of one another that it just couldn't be. Can't blame japan. Mongols, Koreans, and what not.
#279 to #278 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
I know, don't worry.

Yeah plus the only time anyone ever threatened them was the Mongols but the Japanese managed to fight them back or the Mongol fleet was just... Kamikaze'd
#276 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
I'm not mean. I'm a bigger and stronger male. It's my duty~ I know a lot of girls your height though~

Yeah; word. Isolationism wasn't a European concept by any means. Except for maybe Switzerland. But even then it's more of a neutrality thing.
#277 to #276 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
I was just joking, and I suppose. Even for a girl in my country I'm kinda short.

Switzerland was more neutrality than isolationist though. Can't really think of any other country having the same isolationist idea that Japan had. Then again not many other countries had the population of Japan whilst being as far away from others as Japan were without being some borderline tribal stone age place.
#274 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
I just tower over most people. I kinda like pushing around super small people. But that's cause I'm a huge fag <.<

Yeah. Especially Japanese Feudalism.
#275 to #274 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
Meanie. Most people where I live is about your height or a few inches shorter, not by much though.

Yup. The isolationist thing is kinda their own deal tho.
#272 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
Wow you're tiny. I'm almost a full foot taller than you. But it's cool. Small people are <3.. What's it like, anyway?

Japanese culture is basically obscure barbarianism with neat architecture. It's really no different from Celtic or Germanic Clans in Europe.
#273 to #272 - satrenkotheone
(06/09/2015) [-]
Well I can't reach high places and lifting furniture is tricky. I have inherited a lot of muscle mass unfortunately so I'm strong but when my fosterparents call me in to help with furniture it kinda sucks because grabbing the stuff easily is a... well I can't reach around properly.

Yeah I was about to say that Japanese culture has a lot of typical European traits rather than the typical East-Asian traits.
#265 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
Small people are cute.
So are big people. >.>

It definately seems similar. Japanese culture is interesting. Really depends though.

Yeah man.

I also wanna go to Japan but I'm scared it'll just be Norway 2.0 with different architecture and smaller people who just happen to have black hair and brown eyes instead.
#261 to #260 - alfjnn (06/09/2015) [-]
Why do you think we go to space?
Why do people like hiking, camping, and vacationing?

We've not changed as a people.
