There are games people played 2 decades ago that they say still make their jollies rock hard. It is the point of enjoying a story so much that you revel in the universe it makes, to then desire to have a visual flag of your delight in its effect on you. It is as good or even better than anything else you'd slap in your skin.

True story. I've had Pokemon Silver for just over ten years. It was the very first game I ever played. I've never had the heart to delete my save data. I'll probably be holding on to it, and my GBC for the rest of my life. It actually means so much to me. Other people find games that look good to be better, but I disagree. However, I'm reminded of something Olfrid Battle-Born said in Skyrim. "It's one thing to be proud of your heritage, and it's another to cling blindly to the past."
That might have to go in my autobiography.

I have to agree. Wario has gotten a little... different in recent years. Too many wares, ya know? And Diablo 2. A good game. Not my favourite, and I never was very good at it, but not a bad game, not by any means. Sometimes I think developers just try too hard. I think it was better in the past, when there was more game-playing than business strategies. Now, developers just go crazy with trying to be unique, and the fans chastise the developers if even a whiff of plagiarism is about the game.

Oh wow I feel the exact same way! I prefer a good single player experience, partly because single player games has more substance and content, and partly because I have no one to play with. Coop multiplayer can be fun in some games (Dark Souls) but PvP is annoying and it's even worse when I can't avoid it (Dark Souls).
What games do you like?

I can't honestly say I like PvP. I mean, I had a 60-day free trial in WoW, but it just felt tedious. I really like the Elder Scrolls series (except Redguard; it didn't feel like an ES game) the Rayman series (manages to be challenging, but not frustrating, and it looks the part as well. Also, the music levels in Legends. Sheer beauty) the Pokemon series (always been close to my heart, but not the most enjoyable games possible) the Mario Kart series (the Mario series is a little... meh, but I love the Mario Kart games) the Super Smash Bros. series (can't fault it) the older Spyro games (I simply detest the new ones) the older Crash Bandicoot games (where are the remakes Naughty Dog???) Portal and Portal 2, Half-Life 1 + 2, The Legend of Zelda series, Jak and Daxter 1-3, The Walking Dead, the Professor Layton series and the Phoenix Wright series.
Yeah... I love games.

Ace Attorney is friggin awesome, I'm fighting to get through the second game right now!
I wanna get through em all!
I think my favorite games are... Batman Arkham series, Diablo 2, Recettear, Dark Souls, Darksiders and some other I'm probably forgetting. I love games that most others hate... Like I thought Dragon Age 2 was more interesting than the first one. I didn't really enjoy either of them, but I thought the second was better. XCOM was really good! OOOH! And of course my all time favorite science fiction story: Mass Effect!
#57 - epicporter (10/29/2013) [-]
Oh God, I forgot about Arkham. I'm playing Origins right now. And Mass Effect... It is not only one of my favourite trilogies in all of history, but my fave in gaming. Garrus and Wrex. Ma bros. If only the ME3 ending wasn't so lame. :'(. Jak and Daxter and the Arkham trilogies come close, but Ace Attorney tho. Such an overlooked series. And I'm pretty sure that's where OBJECTION originated.
