Ok, that makes sense. My point was that at the current moment africa has jack shit. Potential, sure, but nothing of current value.

I did ask a question, albeit in a smug manner. I'm open to being wrong. I never heard of any major export from africa aside from diamonds and maybe coffee. Any real industry I can think of is american, european, or asian, and the only images I've seen of africa lack any real modernity. So maybe i"m sheltered, but I am asking now because I want to know, what is africa producing that makes it in any way capable of becoming more wealthy than europe in general?

Africa has tons of untapped potential when it comes to both material wealth and also tourism opportunities, however the majority of the continent is still suffering from post-imperialism. Mix this with there being no great leaders in Africa and it looks like Africa is doomed forever. This is not case, however and you only need to look at historical references to see that every continent has had huge and ludicrous issues when trying to 'modernize'. A good example is the US, due to there humble beginnings i'm sure that no one in Europe would have thought that a bunch of farmers and malcontents across the sea could one day be the center of civilization. In my mind African countries will one day also modernize, and when that happens roughly 50 to 100 years from now; I think that Europe's importance will have fallen greatly. That is of course if Europe becomes divided, and there economy scatted to selfish economic pet projects.

>african markets

did something happen that no one's telling me about? I'm pretty sure you can't get much more than chimpanzee meat from "african markets"
