I noticed him initially when i saw the box fall but it didn't really register that there was a child running straight into the fray until after it hit him. It took a few moments after it hit him to really notice that, "oh, wait a minute, there's a child there." And even then, it took me longer to realize that the box actually hit him, i just figured he managed to run into the shelves on accident.

The whole point of interviews is to pretend you're desirable, since you're here with us, you obviously aren't, which is why it's pretending. That said, you should do it without actually lying, because if you do get the job, you can and probably will get fired for it. So, be dishonest, but don't say anything that is actually false, and don't be honest about it, either. In other words, it's like a political election.

Demonstrate you have superior talents to your colleague on fields you know by heart. Five years of experience seems like a big deal until you realize how much time is allocated on day-to-day tasks mixed in with the advancing project. Study ahead of the game to understand what additional skills are trending in demand that are completely relevant to your field, and get a leg up on them, because chances are if they're trending too soon, your colleague might not be aware of it or have enough knowledge to get necessary traction on applying it.

Some employers love the fundamental idea of innovation even if the practicality of the circumstance isn't much to boast about, so if you demonstrate familiarity with something they've read about in passing, it might let you catch their attention that much longer.

I highly doubt weed will be illegal in australia in 50 years. thing was the reason it was fucked up was because his friends may have been friends with the dealer and they trusted him with the information. Or, ya know, if weed wasn't against the law for no justifiable reason that cannot be equally applied to alcohol and tobacco, costing billions of tax dollars per year to fight what is obviously a losing battle, than his friends could all get jobs in the newly created cannabis industry, which would likely generate billions of tax dollars per year, or any other industry they wanted because they are no longer being actively excluded from the work force by the invasion of privacy known as pre-hire drug testing that we have all become disturbingly willing to submit to.

But, ya know, the law is the law. Stop throwing that tea into the Boston harbor to protest unfair taxation without representation you criminal founding fathers! Just willingly accept whatever the powers that be demand of you because their power is handed down by the divine and is therefor unquestionable. Of course, as a result of that rebellion, in America, the powers that be no longer derive their power from the divine, but from the people they are supposed to represent, and the people they are supposed to represent have been questioned via polls, and multiple times they have polled as being in favor of decriminalization, yet it remains a federal offense in spite of public opinion.

Also, there's a difference between getting caught breaking the law by law enforcement, and being thrown under the bus by a private citizen betraying your trust for their own personal gain, putting you in a cage for 3 years so they can get $450 in their pocket. I can almost guarantee you break some law or another, as there are quite a lot of them, and I'm pretty sure you would find it rather fucked up if random people on the street who saw you do some insignificant thing that harmed no one, like walking diagonally across a crosswalk which is technically jaywalking, then went on to turn you in to the authorities because doing so would earn them a small cut of the large fines you are forced to pay for your criminal activities.

It's probably true the higher quantity of weed you smoke daily, the lower the chances of you having a job are.
#231 - anon (10/29/2015) [-]
I'm inclined to disagree with you, it's more to each their own.

Sadly, the majority of pot smokers you hear about are fuckin' deadweights.

Since starting full time work, I've massively increased the amount I smoke, so I don't think it correlates.

Someone who smokes a LOT of weed needs money to cover it.

I find it's people who'll smoke about half a gram a day are more likely unemployed.
#198 - anon (10/29/2015) [-]
Depends what type of weed you smoke.
What most people don't seem to realise is that there are 2 sub species (well actually 3 kind of) of cannabis, one called indica and one called sativa, these each have different properties when smoked, for example indica makes you "Stoned" and super relaxed and lazy, how ever Sativa are known to give energy and motivation to the smoker. Look shit up before you talk about stuff you don't know about.
#99 - Jowi (10/29/2015) [-]
Quite possibly, I smoke regularly but work two jobs. It doesn't make you completely unproductive
#188 - anon (10/29/2015) [-]
it makes you dumb, unless you are lucky to not have a job where focus is required.

One of my friends smokes the stuff like a chimney, but Works as a coordinator for a sales company. His complete inability to learn dynamic abstractions (like a new language or a complex of accounting system) doesn't really nother him in his job.
So yeah.
I imaigne being an art person also would be ok.

Being a banker, lawyer etv probbaly does not go well with weed.
#104 - alf (10/29/2015) [-]
It doesn't make you unproductive at all provided you use responsibly. Its no different than alcohol.

There are many pot heads in my school. 95% of them are retarded and get F's. The few 5% actually get good grades. Three people that stayed back are in my math class, all pot heads. Like you said. "It doesn't make you unproductive at all provided you use responsibly. Its no different than alcohol." I completely agree with you.
#189 - anon (10/29/2015) [-]
The reality is that smart people are smart and dumb people are dumb.
I doubt a smart person could actually sustain smoking to a degree they completely lose touch with reality.

Personally I have a Masters degree in law, and am adept in quite a lot of fields - math, accounting, some team sports, a range of natural sciences. Never felt becoming dumber.

At the end I conclude that since most people have difficulties learning easily (like that's not debatable. the average man is not a smart man), smoking would simply obstruct them from becoming better in any field. A dumb person who learns to focus can become a master in any field.
#190 - anon (10/29/2015) [-]
Speaking of averages - I dislike how potheads always propose people like B.Gates of R.Branson etc. as examples, that dropping from School and smoking pot is ok and you can still make it big.

Those people were already extremely smart and tallented. Them using coke and heroine wouldn't do much bad to their integrity. Smoking pot does not make them better and was not a precursor to their success. They are simply so much above the average, that they can allow themselves to impede theisr thinking with pot and still be fine.
Look - RDJ, R.Williams, S.Tyler all snorted coke and were still big hits.

Average person simply does not fall under these rules, as they are eeons from being successful. Average person smoking pot will be simply a simpleton becoming more simple.
User avatar
#267 - adrilazzaro (11/02/2015) [-]
i disagree, if you're a pothead deadbeat you'd still be a deadbeat without the pot. some people are just not meant to make it big. making it illegal to smoke pot doesn't really affect that

#183 - ciacheczko (10/29/2015) [-]
I think you're reading it the wrong way. They were dumb lazy asses even before they started being potheads. Otherwise they'd never stoop this low. I'm not big on weed at all, but imo both demonising and praising it are equal overreactions.
User avatar
#163 - Daeiros (10/29/2015) [-]
correlation =/= causation
perhaps they are failing school because they smoke weed
perhaps they smoke weed because they are failing school
or perhaps the overlap between the two is entirely coincidental and neither has any effect on the other

I'd personally like to think that the cause of their grades is more of a combination of the abysmal state of our failing education system and their parents who are too stressed out by our collapsing economy to invest any time into their child's education because they are too preoccupied with trying to ensure that their child has food and shelter.

Their drug use is likely to help them cope with the stress they feel as overflow from their parents along with their budding realization that if their parents are struggling so much, than their own prospects for a future aren't looking so bright, combined with the stress of a school system which believes that mountains of busywork is an acceptable substitute for a proper education and that children should be strapped down to a desk and never allowed physical activity because remaining stationary for hours on end is a perfectly natural and healthy way for children to behave, and any who do not like behaving this way should be harshly punished.

Lab mice who were given an abundance of food and water in a large, clean cage with an exercise wheel, along with drugs almost entirely ignored the drugs. Lab mice who were given minimal food and water in a cramped, dirty cage with nothing to do became hopelessly dependent on the drugs.

This strikes close to home when it comes to the school system. My kid is seven and has a sensory disorder. I managed to put her in a school for kids with disabilities, which lowered the class size enough for her to cope and gave her a Para teacher for the days when she can't.

I STILL get told, daily, that she's too difficult redirect when upset or enjoying the activity. I actually have a meeting to go to today, upon which I hope to educate these teachers about sensory issues. Yes, her difficult redirection is mainly sensory related, but she's also seven! She likes to hum and rock when she starts to get overwhelmed, but it's also a sign that she needs a break and a moment to get the excess energy out. At home when doing homework, she gets to stand up, do jumping jacks, run around 'like a crazy chicken', and then sits back down, just to get rid of that kid energy.

By the way, when she does hum or cry, they take away five minutes of her recess. What kind of crap is that? She very much needs the physical outlet, and no one seems to think so now a days.

....sorry, I realized I went on a rant. The whole point is I agree with your statement one hundred percent, and that one bit hit closer than I wanted it to.
User avatar
#214 - Daeiros (10/29/2015) [-]
It's even worse for kids who have any kind of disability or disorder. Even the teachers who are specifically supposed to be able to handle that kind of stuff still seem to expect good little robots instead of energetic, rambunctious children.

My little sister, my little brother, and myself, were all diagnosed with ADHD. My mom never medicated me because she didn't trust the zombie pills, but after all the shit she went through with my schooling, she finally broke down and drugged my sister and brother, and all that really did was take the edge off some of the time. Both of them were put on some of the highest doses available, put on experimental shit, you name it, they pumped those poor kids full of it in a desperate attempt to get them to sit down and shut up for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. It never fully worked, and it did more harm than good. One of the pills they put my sister on hospitalized her several times for heart and blood pressure issues. One of the pills they put my brother on gave him ticks like he has fucking turrets syndrome, they took him off of it, but several years later, the ticks have still not gone away. I've heard there is an extremely effective treatment for ADHD that has minimal side effects, but unfortunately, medical marijuana is far too dangerous, and even if it weren't a federal crime, it would certainly be unthinkable to give it to children. Better to give them the pills that make them twitch uncontrollably, lose consciousness, and have heart attack like events at the age of 9 and still have little to no effect, than the ones that make them giggle a lot and crave junk food, and actually work.

All these kids really need though is to get up and move, but sadly, even when they are allowed a little bit of physical activity, they have these overprotective tyrants hovering over them and making sure that they don't ever dare to do anything that could potentially result in a wittle boo boo because as we all know, children are made of glass and even the tiniest nick or scrap will simply destroy them for life, so it's much better to instill them with absolute terror until they don't even want to play anymore because they think everything is too dangerous.

I heard there was some school that tried out desks with exercise bikes built into them so the kids could just sit there and pedal all day while they learned, and it worked fantastically. Unfortunately, I don't think they will be rolling that out large scale any time soon, despite the resounding success.

We spend so much time and effort discouraging children from being active, then wonder why we have an obesity epidemic.

Idk man . I think it's the solution, but I don't know how you could do it . Maybe you should start with just doing it less.

Either there is something wrong with the size of your dick or the caverns you call vaginas. A pussy should be tight enough to get you off

im at a fairly comfortable near 7 inches, not a pencil dick either, and i've had my share of loose, average and tight pussy. blowjobs also don't finish the job (they feel great, just rarely get me to climax) the seldom times i do get to climax is when i've been stocking up the swimmers or when i'm on drugs

I have this

I remember the first time I came from sex (it was about two months ago with my ex gf) we were living with this problem, but one day I discovered a position that felt REALLY good on my dick, and its been pretty reliable. But, I broke up with her because she is a disrespectful mind twisting cunt who had no idea how good she had it with me

Same. Except my incident was a few years ago. Having a long sex drive is generally a good thing. But it gets really annoying if you can't come for days.

You seem to be under he impression that all dicks are the same, which they're not. For me it's harder to maintain a boner during sex than it is to not finish during sex. If I masturbate then have sex within 24 hours it will be really difficult to finish regardless of the vagina.

Git gud m8.

Did you even go to America? Daily the pledge of allegiance is recited in elementary and high schools, the national anthem is sung before major events. Even then, reciting the pledge is simply literally just saying "I pledge allegiance to the country I'm in and it's doctrine of freedom"

How is pledging to a country the same as being indoctrinated into a radical religion?

i've been living here for the past 6 years thank you, its still indoctrination, not the religious kind but it's still fucking weird. It's always seemed like something out of big brother to me, especially the fact that you kinda have to do it. So no its not indoctrination into a religion but its indoctrination into nationalism

Yeah I can see how it seems that way, but for it to be indoctrination into nationalism it would have to have an intent in which "America so great and all others are worthless ducks" the first part is covered, but for patriotism to become nationalism it would have to be against all other nations and states. Its still not sung though, and every school I've ever been to, it's never been mandatory, all that they require is that you at least stand

You will die alone and unmissed having lived an insignificant life having made the world no better and every so slightly inconvenienced. Your legacy will be the sigh of satisfaction that is left in the world when you finally cease your tiny anchoring of it against progress. Life to you is a great squandering of massive potential, and death will be such a slight change that not even you will miss your small moment of consciousness in the scheme of eternity.
