when i posted that i was taking into account both the UK and america, y'know since i replied to the comment AFTER the mention of the UK, also Canada might have some informal use of imperial but it's officially a metric based country.

The only way commercial aircraft are tracked is via radar. As if the radar coverage in southeast Asia wasn't already shitty enough, when you get so far over the ocean, ATC simply can't provide radar services, because they don't have that kind of range.

Instead, pilots communicate with an Oceanic controller. Pilots give position reports to the controller upon reaching waypoints, and they basically plot it out on a big spreadsheet-type thing.

That Malaysia flight wasn't giving out position reports as it was, as they had lost radio contact, and they weren't able to track it via radar, IIRC either it wasn't "squawking" the correct transponder code, or else SE Asia's shitty radar coverage didn't do its job.

You know how you go into the boonies and you lose cell signal? The same thing happens when you fly over the ocean, no cell, no radio, no internet, no wifi.

GPS is a system where you receive a signal from a satellite, not transmit back to it.

Radio communication is limited to "we're heading in this direction at this speed, we'll let you know when we get there." If they get hijacked and change course, the hijackers don't announce the change.

So no, it's very difficult to know the last location unless they are over land, the more populated the easier.

yeah, I know that rad fems are more of an internet problem than a real life one, none of the women I know irl who know the truth and trivialities of third wave feminism would ever associate with them which is s good thing but the internet kinda jaded me that alot of people actually think that way with that feminist cesspool tumblr.

the word "creepy" has lost all it's meaning, nowadays it just means that she isnt attrated but many will try to deny it and say that attractive guys can be creepy too.

it's just like the word "cute" when used to describe a guy, it's a more innocent sounding less blatant way of saying a guy is attractive.

one thing i dont understand about some feminist way of thinking is that many dont like being approached by men and "hit on" yet we live in a society that pressures men to be the proactive ones in starting a relationship. men have to master the social arts and step around eggshells and landmines and trying to approach women without embarrassing himself and many women will call men theyre just not attracted to as "creepy".
User avatar #67 - adrilazzaro (12/06/2014) [-]
Radical feminists are closer to 0% of all women than 1%, And know this, a badly made approach by a 6/10 guy is 'creepy', but if it's a 9/10 guy he's just shy and cute. It's all part of the #1. Looks, that's why guys who aren't good looking have to have #3, a silver tongue.

You will die alone and unmissed having lived an insignificant life having made the world no better and every so slightly inconvenienced. Your legacy will be the sigh of satisfaction that is left in the world when you finally cease your tiny anchoring of it against progress. Life to you is a great squandering of massive potential, and death will be such a slight change that not even you will miss your small moment of consciousness in the scheme of eternity.
