Honestly, the best thing I ever did was upgrade incrementally.

Figure out what your current build is, and what you can upgrade to get to your dream build.

I upgraded like this

Init :

3770k, GTX 670, 8GB RAM, 128 GB SSD, 2 TB HDD, Bitfenix Shinobi, 850W PSU
Added another 670
Added h80i to 3770k
Added 8GB RAM
Added 2 x 2TB drives
Upgraded 670 x 2 to 780 Ti x 2
Upgraded Case to HAF XM
Added 2 x 2TB drives
Upgraded Mobo, RAM, Processor to X79 chipset, 32GB @ 2400MHz, i7 4930k, added Nepton 280L to 4930k
Custom watercooling, upgraded to 1200W PSU, added 240GB SSD

At that point I had my dream build. At no point during that did I have a non-functional computer, and once I was done with my build, my partner received my old build. In order for hers to work all I needed was a single SSD, HDD and PSU. Two fully functional systems, and I never spent more than $5k in any one sale. The biggest upgrade was the motherboard switch, which it always is.

Do it slowly, wait for sales and plan carefully.

Do that already without touching 32gb. If I'm streaming, gaming, have ts, steam, origin, dxtory and a bunch of other shit open its only ~60% util.

I could be a snide little fucker and mention RAMDisking for games, but you're right it'd still be stupid.

32GB is honestly a touch too much, I never max it out but I've come close. I reckon I could get by on 24GB if I needed to.
