I'd say the world was much more consistent in its quality, which I would say stayed somewhere around "good" for the most part. There was nothing as bad as Demon Ruins or Lost Izalith bloom hell in 2. I can agree the story was worse, but the mechanics of 2 were much better. Allowing the off hand to make full use of the weapon in it and even giving the player special movesets if they had 2 weapons of the same type in their hands and had the stats to wield them made for a much more varied experience. Then there's the online aspect that was handled miles better than the first game.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't played enough of RS3 to have much of an opinion, I just don't really like the whole new combat thing. I preferred back when it was max level 138, with simple combat.

there's a setting where it automatically activates the basic abilities on all but the last few slots, so you can just sit back and watch the fight happen, occasionally hitting the stronger abilities that don't auto activate. And some of the abilities are pretty useful.

you can also set it to Legacy mode, which is no abilities at all, and the damage and hp are set back down to the x10 scale (x10 the original scale).

And the NXT client is written in c++ (I believe) instead of Java, so it will run faster, and there shouldn't be as much input lag. Also view distance in NXT is much farther

I think I'd use the Legacy mode the most. I'm just not sure if I can get back into it, I had a 110-something character and the grind is huge.
