they keep their standard of living low so when the economy takes a downturn their standard of living doesn't change.

however if the US dollar goes down even a couple points, fucking entitled bratty Americans lose their fucking minds

Russian winters are pretty brutal, so these things are built like tanks. I'm sure most Russians would rather have an ugly toaster car than a pretty overpriced garden feature.

Dude that car is like forty years old, probably even older. I am pretty sure it is one of the antique models made by VAZ.

Yeah, despite what people around here think from what I have heard are pretty rigid cars and like anything Russian they can also be repaired by just about anyone.

My dad had a Lada when he was younger and it started even during the harshest of winter days. TOo bad for him that all his friends knew it did so they asked him to come give them a jump start so they can go to work.

So nature is just out there making these decisions all willy-nilly with no regard for what actually makes sense?

Originally when I read his comment, I thought he has said legal.. Not illegal.
I'm all for the legalization for taxation purposes.

#458 - nigeltheoutlaw (09/25/2016) [-]
The "taxation purposes" idea is a dangerous one. On the surface it seems great, but tobacco paints a sobering picture of how bad luxury taxes can get: a pack of cigarretes in some places is subject to a 1000% tax. 1000%. It's so bad that in a lot of places, gray markets for tobacco are springing up because why spend 10 dollars on a pack when you can all pool money and have a dude buy cigs in bulk from some eastern bloc shithole for a fraction of the cost? If you excessively tax weed after legalizing it, it will reach the point that the convenience won't cover the cost, and people will go through illegal routes for a better deal.
#302 - blancka (09/25/2016) [-]
I actually wanna take this point from a different perspective and say that I'm massively against legalization being pushed forward because it'll raise tax dollars. There's no fucking reason for it. Either the plant is dangerous enough to the public to be made illegal, or it's not. It should be as simple as that. If it's legalized it shouldn't be taxed extra simply because it can be done. It's just corrupt in my eyes that things like this happen.

Now, I understand that a lot of tax dollars raised from legalization have gone towards bettering local society where it's happened, but on a principle basis, it just seems ridiculous to me that laws will be passed based on money, not on whether or not something is a danger to society

Watching movies is bad for your health and is always accompanied with artery clogging foods which lead to diabetes and high cholesterol
#71 - anon (09/25/2016) [-]
Well, shit. Guess no one can work a job anymore either, because if you sit too long it's bad for your health.

Fuck outta here with your shitty arguments.

Jobs also expose you to chemicals that you would not naturally come into contact with, they are unhealthy

And if you're an office worker, the proximity to the screen can give you migraines, abs being boxed off from others is bad for your mental health
