Don't pretend not to know what the Millenium Puzzle is. We get it, it's cool to hate Yu-Gi-Oh. Doesn't mean it wasn't completely the shit when you were 12.

I remember getting to the final wave in Firefight to get the Endure Vidmaster achievement and then the game lagged out. Gave up then and there, having already worked my ass off for the rest of the Vidmasters. Took my free Recon later as granted.

I have to say out of the stuff 343 did that one pissed me off the most like why? They weren't involved in Halo 3 in the slightest, why go back and touch it? One of the biggest rewards in online gaming in that era and you just go and give it all away for free? For free when not that many people even played the game anymore?

Oh I had earned recon well before they gave it out for free. People thought I cheated and got it through hacking or whatever.

Not my friends, i'm talking about people I would meet in the matchmaking and whatnot.

And that actually happened a lot, people cheating to get armor, sometimes getting flaming recon, which was impossible to get legit.

Not impossible to get you just had to contribute to the community in some way and be recognized by Bungie for it so yeah impossible

No you're incorrect about that. What you just described was the original way to get Recon armor. So naturally huge Machinima creators, or who created famous maps or gametypes like Grifball, were granted Recon armor. Flaming Recon armor however, was granted exclusively to Bungie employees. Unless you got a job at Bungie, you don't get flaming Recon.

In Wisconsin we would change the drinking age to 1 second after birth
User avatar
#39 - strigt (07/29/2016) [-]
Way I see it, states' rights are being trampled on so much we might as well have a federally declared drinking age, but it'll remain 21.

In 1984, Louisana's drinking age was 18, but the Feds withheld highway funding until Louisiana complied and changed it to 21 in 1986.

So the Federal system is corrupt as fuck and the Tenth Amendment has no meaning anymore. This is why the South should have won.
#42 - anon (07/29/2016) [-]
State laws are overruled by federal law, since there is a federally mandated drinking age at 21 the states cannot say any differently.

The South should've won.

If that's actually what you think, I feel sorry for you friend.
Remember the articles of the confederation? Remember how it was an utter disaster that nearly tore apart the country? Yeah I do too. A confederated America would not be a successful America. If the South would have won, we'd have a failing United States, having lost access to the Mississippi river that served a large role in helping the U.S. to prosper. In addition to loss in trade, we'd have a loss of military and political power. We wouldn't be close to a global influence and our economy would reflect that. We'd also have a failing CSA, because as seen under the articles of confederation, a confederated America can not stand.
#79 - kalaark (07/29/2016) [-]
But to say that anything the union did during or after the war was beneficial is also a lie.

We should have never had a war. But the country was torn long before that... Things need to go back into the state's hands. The federap government protects the outside borders, engages in international politics, and keeps peace between the states. All else ought to ve left to the states.
#60 - anon (07/29/2016) [-]
Plus the whole- you know- people being able to own other human beings. Don't forget that part.
User avatar
#45 - strigt (07/29/2016) [-]
So it was either the CSA won and the US falls, having two failing nations controlling half a rich continent...
...or our current highly centralized federal system where the oligarchy rules over the common people and there's no way to fight back.

The United States has some of the most state right of any country, as it should, since the U.S. is such a large and diverse place that can't be completely run by a federal government. I too believe that there should be more state power in some circumstances, and that's why you gotta vote for people that share the same thoughts. It doesn't have to be a president. Governors, representatives, even mayors have power that could help your cause. That's our way to fight back, just voting and inspiring others to vote the same way. That's how our democracy works.

#50 - strigt (07/29/2016) [-]
I agree with what you're saying, but everywhere I look there's apathy towards the abuse of power. Politicians may agree with you, but they quickly become part of the establishment.
And anytime someone calls it out, they're rooted out by the people in power or the common voter labels that person a radical.
Democracy is in place, but it's not being used.
I hope we wake up before we're forced to take our daily thought pills.
