Seriously, this is the shit that keeps me up at night. America has orchestrated just about every bad thing to happen in the last fifty years, straight up. Their economy has collapsed twice, and they simply printed more money and told the world that they weren't a bankrupt nation. How the fuck does the global equivalent of a dictatorship keep power like this without anyone giving a fuck for DECADES.

Technically, the US has been caught up in the middle of the shit from other countries. The middle east was fucked up by the Ottoman Empire/USSR way back in the day, then Britain decided to take a shit ton of land away from them to give to their Jewish mortal enemies.

I admit, we're not doing much help, especially arming the taliban to fight the ruskies and then them using our gifts against us.

Part of it is their fault too. Many of the middle eastern countries were pretty prosperous, slowly becoming like the West. The elites there imposed sharia law and fucked everything up. I'm all for someone honoring their culture, but when that culture oppresses people mainly every female and non-middle eastern person then i don't think it is a very good system

In syria there is a direct connection to the severity of sharia law with how much control the us had over the country. Its interesting, if you follow womens fashions by the half decade you can see them getting more and more conservative.

Beats me, its the name of the game. You gotta make your population smart enough for the country to run, but dumb enough not to question you too much. You give them their little victories or their little distractions and the masses won't give a shit about the rest of the world. I'm from the US, born and raised. I love my country and love what it was meant to represent but I cannot say I love the people who are running it, the motivations behind global dominance at the expense of others, and possibly what it may all be leading up to. There really is no right or wrong, just different points of view on the subject but since the beginning of time, the few have tried to control the many and are ever adapting when the people get angry enough to not drink the koolaid. Long story short I'd start a revolution but its hard to get the rest of the population motivated enough to do anything collectively, without it turning to a total shit storm and blowing up in your face.

You make a good point. Still a scary situation.

The situation is very demoralizing, humanity wants us to give compassion to people fleeing war torn countries, but we we are the ones tearing the countries apart with war to begin with. There's no way we come out as the good guys in all this when we were the initial aggressors. I honestly have no idea how this is an issue we can fix, there are too many resources and money on the table in the middle east, as well as the show of power over there and across the globe to just pull out of the middle east and other parts of the world, but relations with the rest of the world will only get worse the more we throw our weight around and trying to stay on top forever. Best solution make friends with the far east, Russia, China, small island peninsulas, etc. Make stronger bonds with everyone, put aside the political bullshit and undermining each other to get rid of the threat at hand which is violent extremism (which, I think, the only way would be through massive education reforms across the middle east, mid-evil times where religion trumps science is what made europe a shithole at the time) if every country helped out it wouldn't be such a burden for just one or two countries to try and accomplish.

We are aggressors, they wont change without education.

energy has to be expended one way or another, you would fizzle out of existence eventually so no worries.
