In my opinion thats like putting a bandaid on severed arm.

You can use the money you spend on ammo/gas and such to go and buy meat from farms for the poor if you really would like to help them. I admit however that the money for the one bullet/deer (if you are good) is much cheaper if you would buy the same amount of meat.

If you like shooting your gun, you can go to range or make yourself some moving targets (or use clay pidgeons if you want the challenge)

I get what you are trying to say. I would however like to point out, that if you were a ranger that killed the animal (they know how much they must kill each year so they dont overpopulate) and gave that meat to those in need, it would be much better. Strictly ethically speaking.
