Yeah, except no one is backing North Korea anymore and the US is that massive semi-retarded chimpanzee on the preschool playground. Not the brightest bulb in the box but capable of raping everyone a new asshole.
User avatar #76 - gibroner (04/16/2013) [-]
Except for the fact that they would sooner some to our aid than North Korea literally nobody supports them
#67 - hoffmeisterh (04/16/2013) [-]
Yeah, you know, if china and russia were both retarded and chose to ally with an insane dictator who would ultimately turn on them rather than the most powerful country in the world.
China have openly said that they oppose North Korea's current stance. It makes no sense at all for China to support North Korea militarily at this point, it ain't the 50s any more.
#117 - kranske (04/16/2013) [-]
i did read somewhere that china has a still standing contract with north Korea stating that if they were in trouble, china will come to its aid all most straight away
User avatar #120 - hoffmeisterh (04/16/2013) [-]
When push comes to shove I doubt they'd hold it up. Yeah it's contracted but who's gonna enforce that contract? China will support North Korea the whole time they are towing the line and being a good little puppet state. The instant North Korea poses a threat to china's economy (which in declaring war on the US they would) they'll be on their own. The only reason International treaties and such are held is either to maintain dignity and trust between nations or to avoid sanctions from the UN/WTO/IMF etc. I don't know about you but I doubt people would exactly condemn and punish china for breaking a treaty protecting a state threatening to plunge the world into war.
Up to this point china has maintained friendly relations with NK solely to limit the crazy, as soon as that stops being a viable option lil' kimmy will be scrambling for his daddy's cockroach rocket before you know it. See The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact for past example. Not the exact same situation, but same basic concept.

tl;dr That contract isn't worth the paper it's written on.
#121 - kranske (04/17/2013) [-]
i didnt see it from that way, you have brung up some really good points, i enjoyed reading what you had said honestly and for this i will thumb accordingly
User avatar #122 - hoffmeisterh (04/17/2013) [-]
No problem. I actually study politics and international relations so I actually have to think about this stuff all the time. As a result I feel obliged to share the knowledge on these issues, particularly to put peoples minds at ease when they're worried about WW3.
User avatar #63 - NhuckCorris (04/16/2013) [-]
USA could defeat them individually, but both of them put together is very unlikely.

although, the UK would help out in trying to decimate Russia, and if the UK gets the EU on board, the USA will succeed.

But that's called WW3.
#96 - Womens Study Major (04/16/2013) [-]
That is so false I can't even comprehend. Keep raising your self esteem by making ridiculous statements claiming USA could defeat China or even Russia for that matter individually. Gotta love big headed amerifats.
User avatar #99 - NhuckCorris (04/16/2013) [-]
I'm British you anon fuck.
It's got nothing to do with big headedness anyway, the USA is the most powerful nation on Earth due to the sheer size and technology of their armed forces, that's just common sense.
You stupid thundercunt.
User avatar #61 - ScottP (04/16/2013) [-]
China may have a large population, but their military hasn't been developing much in the last few decades
#66 - sytheris (04/16/2013) [-]
Plus they own the majority of the US Debt, so they would be foolish to try to destroy the US militarily, when they can just call on that debt.
User avatar #80 - akkere (04/16/2013) [-]
....And how exactly do you think they'd "call on the debt" without doing so militarily?

"Hello, US? Could you like, pay your bills plz?"

"Uhhh, now? No. We can't do that."

"But you have to. I'm calling on the debt. You totally have to."

"No, no I'm afraid it doesn't work like that."

"Shit, I thought there'd be a supernatural force that would just pull you."
#98 - Womens Study Major (04/16/2013) [-]
Actually, if they failed to call on debt then China could/would send threats to declare war causing even more damage and money owed after China wipes USA off the map.
User avatar #103 - akkere (04/16/2013) [-]
China detaches from a major economic partner and enters a dreadful economic status where a number of the outsourced labor we have there gets unemployed from the business figureheads pulling out and having most of the products they export because of that labor disappearing from their balance sheets.

They wouldn't be able to summon up a force for war due to that, and starting a war over a debt that they could easily make in a decade from the contributions of consumerism in the US that causes the outsourced labor and optimal product exports is just plain irrational.

Not to mention if the UK and the EU decide to step in, especially if they'd be interested in having an even bigger stake on the US as an economic partner.
#82 - sytheris (04/16/2013) [-]
Then they stop shipping us stuff and we have a massive drop in products that they make.
User avatar #87 - akkere (04/16/2013) [-]
Then their economy goes to shit as they lose their largest economic partner in both trade and labor :|

Which really helps a lot considering their economy isn't in pristine condition now.
#88 - sytheris (04/16/2013) [-]
And the US economy is? It'd be a race to see whom breaks first, and I doubt the communists will break before the capitalists in a harsh depression. Personal opinion though.
User avatar #89 - akkere (04/16/2013) [-]
Products would see a rise in price now that there's a sudden drop in outsourced labor and products and therefore drop in competition, but that slowly returns when business figureheads turn their attention to other second-world and third-world nations, like South America.
In the mean time more and more workers get employed to amend the issue of the lack of the products and industry gets fired up again.

Meanwhile China has a severe economic issue where the factories run empty and products aren't going anywhere, and no other nation would deliver the economic partnership like the US does with them.
User avatar #90 - akkere (04/16/2013) [-]
like the ones found in South America*
#93 - sytheris (04/16/2013) [-]
Possible, but you're riding your theory on possibilities. it is possible the economy of the US collapses before it can rebuild itself and the entire country riots.

and it's also possible one or the other threatens war because of it. -shrug-
User avatar #95 - akkere (04/16/2013) [-]
Your theory is just "The US collapses and everyone goes apeshit"

Mine's an actual breakdown of how the issues would be handled based on actual know-how of economic status and how our economy works. Just saying "Commies will totally beat Capitalists in this" doesn't quite make the same validity.

It's also hard for China to start a war if their economy hits as hard as it will without a partner, and Russia would hardly fit the bill because they don't have the level of consumerism the US does.
#97 - sytheris (04/16/2013) [-]
I didn't put backing to my theory because ti was just an example. I'm by no means an expert of economics, but I know a bit, and I'm saying you can't know for sure what would happen, only guess, no matter how likely or well backed your theories are.

I also am too sick to put much thought into a FJ argument, so my bad - genuinely sorry there.
User avatar #100 - akkere (04/16/2013) [-]
It's cool, sorry if I overreacted.

Just got tired of hearing people saying how China would just grow gigantic muscles and kick America off the globe all of a sudden.
#101 - sytheris (04/16/2013) [-]
Oh fucking hardly. Military conflict? China's done.
User avatar #60 - monkeyyninja (04/16/2013) [-]
Yeah, a country that spends many times as much on their military as china and Russia combined would totally lose against them.
#74 - angelusprimus (04/16/2013) [-]
Except there is a great big ocean between north korea and USA, and there is... nothing between China and North Korea.
America lost from Vietnam. Money isn't everything, never was.
