The nuke in megaton sat there for 300 years, even without being active it would deteriorate and the seals would fail. And who was maintaining vaults long abandoned or overun with mutants? My point is it just doesn't make sense. In literally every other major PAW scenario, there are vehicles. But not Fallout. it annoys me, I want a buggy!

Mods? I coulda swore there was some vehicle mods..
User avatar #240 - charagrin (12/16/2013) [-]
There are, and I do love mods. But the vehicle ones ruin the immersion because it is clear the rest of the game wasn't built with them in mind.

That's true. But like I said before, those motor cycles seem to be in perfect fucking condition all them time..

You are not wrong, and they have an exhaust system so they clearly run via combustion. No reason at all they don't work. Especially those indoors and protected from the elements. If a character can run a nuclear reactor for the NCR they should be able to fix a damn bike.

'Cause Bethesda, mate. The framerate sometimes chugs when you're just walking around. Imagine what a nightmare it would be going at least five times as fast, their engines wouldn't even be able to render the terrain that fast.

Nuclear weapons worked fine after being out in the open, same for nuclear reactors in the vaults both inhabitated and vacated. Lights, roads, housing, etc.
User avatar #233 - TopDawg (12/16/2013) [-]
Because the reactors were maintained and the weapons don't have a constant active reaction. Nuclear reactors require a lot of love and care or they go kablewy. Like the power plants are maintained by wasteland settlers and stuff. Or robots.

Actually your stomach has to work twice as hard to get protein out of meat then it does with vegetables.
What our bodies need to build protein are amino acids. Our bodies assemble amino acids, from our amino acid bank, to produce proteins.
When we eat a piece of meat, our stomach has to break down the (whatever animal) proteins into the correct amino acids, then have to reattach them to make our own protein.
When we eat vegetables, like broccoli, our bodies get the amino acids straight away to our amino bank, so we are able to skip breaking them down before hand.

TLDR: We eat food for energy and we spend more energy to digest meat then what we get out of it.

It's a choice what you eat, but it's more efficient to eat vegetables to get protein.

-"I dont have the strength to eat another living thing" i think thats what she said
-"thats 'cause you need protein"
Best return ever
User avatar #49 - weenieandthebutt (12/14/2013) [-]
Vegans will blabber on about how you can get protein from other sources but they're no where near as superior plus a hella lot more expensive.
#109 - anonymous (12/14/2013) [-]
Well you can get protein from other sources for a lot cheaper than what meat costs. Though if i remember correctly ( I actually studied this but it's been awhile) the downside is that things rich in protein-like nuts-do not process as well. Meat is much more easily digestible for us. Basically having a diet without meat is not bad but it isn't perfect. A high meat diet has obvious problems as well. Basically you are supposed to eat both for well rounded health. We are omnivores after all, so denying one half of our natural diet seems ridiculous to me.
User avatar #144 - cshp (12/14/2013) [-]
It's either biological value or biological availability. It's a measurement of how much of the proteins can actually be processed.

I got my xbox day one, it has never failed me. sure the video cord has a short that makes me need to have it at a certain angle to work, but the machine itself still runs like a cheetah on meth whenever I play it.

My original Xbox was a trooper! I pulled it out of a box last christmas, plugged it in, turned it on, watched it crackle, pop, and literally spark to life, and proceeded to play Halo 1 for several hours before I gave it to my friend for a christmas present, and it still works for her
User avatar #51 - CallMeCrisco (12/08/2013) [-]
Yah know, my original xbox still works (where as my brother has been through 5 360s). Sure, sometimes the load screen for Halo goes backwards, but it still loads, damnit.
