Discomfort about homosexuals is insane unless they're trying to fuck you
If you're that uncomfortable around someone because of their sexuality, stop being around them. Sure, I'm completely against the "hate crimes" about homosexuality and racism when it has nothing to do with the race/sexuality, but to be fair if I'm uncomfortable around a black guy that's not being aggressive or racist to me, it's me that should leave.

You're misrepresenting the situations. The people on 9/11 did what they did for political reasons they have other avenues to pursue those goals without the need to cause loss of civilian life. The choice that allies had at the end of WW2 was literally, kill a 100,000 in a display of power or perform genocide on the Japanesse people.
User avatar #688 - Theyneverknow (09/19/2012) [-]
It was a short of a few million not 100,000
And there is never only one option. It was the only option they saw suitable, just as the terrorists on 9/11 believed that was the only option suitable

One action led to less loss of life, the other more in order to pursue a political goal. Yhe two actions aren't morally the same.
User avatar #657 - Theyneverknow (09/19/2012) [-]
A small group of people decided that, if they committed an utter evil, something that would take many many lives of an opposing faction, it would possibly be the only way to end bloodshed and the horror upon both factions, though they could never be 100% certain it would work until it was too late.
Which am I talking about?
I'm not saying they're morally the same, I'm saying that the only thing any two enemies inevitably share, it's the belief that they are right.
#667 - Conartist (09/19/2012) [-]

Japan had it's chance to surrender. Did the U.S. get it's chance to evacuate the twin towers or the planes?

The japanese weren't gonna surrender, they were fanatically loyal to the god like emperor and their civilians probably would have fought the invasion force. The lives that were lost from the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings would have been dwarfed by the casualties to both the militaries of Japan and America as well as the civilian population by a mainland invasion. No joke, the US, expecting insane amount of casualties, stocked up on so many purple hearts, that nearly 70 years later they still haven't run out and give them to veterans of today’s wars. Sorry to interrupt the circle jerk but dropping the bombs was the lesser of two evils because the Emperor didn't think Japan could win against Atom Bombs and so forced Japan to surrender peacefully.
User avatar #647 - Theyneverknow (09/19/2012) [-]
You think the people that crashed the planes into the Twin Towers didn't think it was the lesser of two evils? That they didn't think in the end it would save life and serve their cause?
Face it, there are no rights when people are killed, and everyone will believe they're right if it helps them sleep better.
