Holy shit how fucking stupid do you have to be to think that fucking drug addicts are as bad as rapists and fucking child molesters?

Since you need to be schooled, sit down and take notes: Child abuse and rape is horrible, no question, but child abuse and rape are about control over others. Drug addiction is about willfully giving up control over your actions, actions which include child abuse and rape. A child abuser and rapist can be held accountable because they were in control of themselves. They can make an act on contrition (except in cases of psychopaths). A drug addict cannot make an act of contrition because they were not in control. They gave up control to the drug. The drug was in control.

Class dismissed, and go fuck yourself

You do realize that most convicts are there drug-related offenses, right? No, really, the so-called "war on drugs" is almost single-handedly responsible for the overcrowding of our prison system, and the worst part is that they're arresting the wrong people - they SHOULD be going after the dealers and everybody involved in illegal distribution, not the consumer.

"Drug related offences" that;s cute. They're in prison for taking away one's control over themselves. They're in prison for taking away one's ability to choose. Imagine a drug that took away a gay's ability to choose their own partner, or a woman's ability to choose abortion (or choose life, whichever). Taking away choice is a fundamental crime. A free society allows maximum choice so long as it doesn't interfere with the rights of another. Drugs take away the right of a person to choose, just like child molestation and rape.

Class dismissed.

Why would a drug addict deserve to have their toothbrush pissed on? "Yeah this'll teach that person with a mental disorder that hurt noone but themselves a lesson"

Drug addiction is not a mental disorder. Mental disorders are mental disorders. Drug addictions are chemical dependencies. Please graduate the 4th grade before posting further.

Assuming everyone in prison is a child molester, drug addict, or rapist is retarded.

I agree with child molester and rapist, but why exactly do drug addicts deserve that amount of disrespect?
User avatar
#208 - TeamAmerica (11/18/2015) [-]
Because they're drug addicts.
User avatar

Uh because they chose to be addicted to drugs, that's a choice to give up choice, the only real freedom anyone has. If you choose to be a slave, be a slave in a beneficial way, not to a destructive chemical.

I don't think being a drug addict is a good thing, don't get me wrong, but I effeminately don't classify it as bad as child molesters and rapists. It's no where NEAR that bad.

All of your arguments encourage free choices, but taking drugs is a choice some people take. I see somewhere you said the following:
"Drugs take away the right of a person to choose, just like child molestation and rape."

That is mostly true. The part you have wrong is the difference between the two. Drug addiction doesn't take away any choices. You can choose to get clean. And even if you can't get clean, its still a choice. It was a choice to take the drugs in the first place, that is all free choice. With child molestation and rape, it is taking away a choice of SOMEONE ELSE. That is why its so bad, the other person doesn't get to choose. With drugs, only the person taking them has made a choice or has anything happen to them.

That only reinforces my argument. If drug addiction is a choice, that makes the addict even lower than if they had no control.

If someone isn't harming someone else, they can live their life however they want.

My point was drug addicts are no where near rapists and child molesters on the chart.

Drug addicts generally ARE harming others, is the point, hence the disrespect to the prisoner.

As to your point, I don't address severity since we aren't looking at a real case, only a vague reference.

"Drug addicts generally ARE harming others"

Not DIRECTLY, which is the difference between the accusations.

None of those are directly. I dont think you know what directly means.

All of those happen due to drugs, but not directly. Its more of a side effect.
