yeah I'm a troll just because I disagree with you and think you're an idiot who passes off small pieces of legislation as a worthy weight over the state and future of our increasingly less free nation as well as attributing better economic and industrial conditions to Obama even though he had nothing to do with them.
ignorance is bliss
#111 - questionableferret (01/15/2015) [-]
And would you look at that! There goes Obama, driving down that deficit! What an economic criminal! Thankfully the new republican budget that passed last year will fix all of this damned economic recovery by buying more unnecessary weapons for the US military and you're hideously misinformed but I think you got the general gist of where I'm coming from by now.
#186 - durkadurka (01/16/2015) [-]
>Implying the decrease in deficit has nothing to do with the ending of two wars which were scheduled to end before 2008
> Implying deregulation was what forced banks to make risky loans hint; it was the opposite
>Implying the housing bubble wasn't already underway
>Implying Obama didn't continue the same exact practice of bailouts
>Implying their policies haven't been remarkably similar.
#198 - questionableferret (01/16/2015) [-]
>implying the improving deficit is the only signal of improving economic health and not just a single example made to show the effectiveness of Obama's economic policies on a single, important factor.
>implying those two wars ended when there were still plenty of US troops in both Afganistan and Iraq over those years.
>implying the banks didn't want to make those loans when banks all over the world were making them without being regulated to. Also implying those regulations aren't the fault of Bush thus making that point moot in the first place.
>implying I mentioned that.
>implying I said Obama was a fucking saint and not just far less of a shitty president than Bush.
>implying their po- okay, on some of their policies I'll give you that and that is my biggest criticism about Obama. Seriously, 'Change'? Pah. He's better than Bush by far but he's still not the kind of President the US deserves. (Elizabeth Warren... run! For the love of god run!)

1. Still not sure why you're suggesting that economic policy is what drives federal spending. Even still, your own data shows that it's not back to where it was in 2008. The bailouts led to some insanely high deficits. What kind of accomplishment is it to reduce a deficit that your economic policy created? It is more accurate to say that Obama's economic policy led to HIGHER deficits.
2. I worded this wrong, my bad. What I meant to say was that by 2008, the wars were set to end at a later point. So Obama stuck to the plan.
3. They didn't. They were risky loans that weren't going to get paid back. The regulation that did this was a modification of the Community Reinvestment Act in 1995. It required that a requisite number of loans be made to lower income home buyers (risky loans). This is what relaxed lending standards. It'd be wrong to suggest Bush is blameless here: His administration did not create the bubble, but they had years to figure it out and fix it and they failed to let the banks fail.
I never liked how Bush handled the financial crisis plus a few other things. Obama continued much of this and in addition has displayed poor leadership qualities. They're all politicians and govern as such.

Weapons and war spending actually stimulate the economy and our control over the oceans and political influence give us great control over trade route networks
You talk to me like I know nothing, but the truth is that the same people who sympathize with him are the same people who voted him into office. This country is no better off at all. You attribute things that shouldn't be attributed to him, because you lack any actual economic or geopolitical insight or foresight.
But thats none of my business.
#151 - questionableferret (01/15/2015) [-]
And you know what also stimulates the economy? Spending money elsewhere than just weapons and war. In fact, you actually stimulate the economy MORE in certain cases, it's all down to which industry you choose to sponsor. Heck, you could put that money into education and it'd stimulate the economy because the money is going to paying teachers who will then put the money back into the economy and all the while you're also providing better education for the students which is ALSO good for the economy in the long-term.
I talk to you like you know nothing because you talk as though you know nothing. You talk as though you believe everything you're spoon-fed by Fox News. I don't actually like Obama but y'know what, he's better than Bush, and that's my gripe with you... because you're a fucking moron.
But we've long-since established that. I mean, we've had this song and dance before a lot of times and you only seem to get stupider as time passes, but it's better someone counter your dip-shittery just in case someone takes you seriously.

Education is broken. Costs are way to high, and it's vastly inequal. The cost of going to school is through the roof. Passing qutos and scholarships isn't going to solve the problem.
Listen white name, I've studied these subjects all my life, and will study for many years to become an economist. I've been analyzing this shit for years, and taken in the wisdom of men much wiser then me. You're the one who doesn't know shit.
I've dedicated my life to knowing, and what about you? I highly doubt you give as much shits as I do. And no bush wasn't much great either, but at least he wasn't basically a lamp.
#184 - questionableferret (01/16/2015) [-]
No, Bush wasn't the start of the problem and Obama certainly isn't the end of it (Elizabeth Warren... for the love of god run for the Presidency) but Obama's been running damage control for 6 years trying to deal with the dumbass Republicans pulling shit out of their arses just to try and discredit him whilst trying to do some good in the US. He's just another part in the corrupt system but heck, he's not the worst part.
And yeah, Education in the US is a fucking travesty, I'm not gonna disagree on that and it's actually pissed me off on how little so many contemporary presidents have done to mitigate that issue, but that's a massive problem that can only be solved through regulation and spending and the economy right now can't support that because the people with all the money aren't being taxed proportionally so that money's not returning to circulation in the numbers it should be. I forget which state it is (I think it's Kansas) but the mis-management in that state has led to massive budgetary strife.
And you think you're not a white-name? I've been slugging it out with you since I was still Snowshark (password/email got changed so the accounts just sitting there now... fuck me, eh?) so don't think you got shit on me with old-faggotry. You might be an economist (and if so a misguided one) but I happen to be a management accountant and we deal in economics too. Numbers are my fucking LIFE, bro. I might be another cog in the corporate system but that doesn't mean I don't despise this culture that exists these days.
But that shouldn't be a problem for much longer, what with the coming massive unemployment spikes and all. Should motivate some change at least.

His corruption was rampant throughout his career. E.G: Clinton actually had a run where there, for once, was no deficit. That means the country made more money than it spent. That is amazing. But then Bush came in and tragic overspending happened and the banks lost a lot of important regulations to stop them being overly greedy and suddenly everyone's shocked when the lack of regulations and greed eventually led to the economic crash. Then Bush bailed out the bankers instead of the people and the economy just got more and more fucked until Obama finally took over and rectified the situation.
