Not really it was sports that ruled, all but one of the shows i was actually in where off campus. We had a small theater, and mostly donated stuff, we did less popular plays that we could get the rights to for cheap( we only did a musical every 4 years due to the cost) But In California I guess I did get more chances to find stuff to act in.

I think they did a decent job with it, I mean they took out the narrator and Rapunzels end, but it was a Disney production so i can see how they had to cut some stuff for overall run time ect. The singing was pretty great though and I think the cast did a good job. Overall i would watch it again

Well they wanted to reach a wider audience who might not know that they are traditionally played by young adults, so i understood why they where kids, and they where still good singers so i dont see an issue with that.

Some people just aren't happy unless it's just like the stage show. Which is dumb since it's a completely different medium.
User avatar #1286 - Phantomgal (02/08/2015) [-]
If they ever do Wicked they better be as close as possible to the stage show or theater fans will riot lol tensions run high with that one, if they ever do they should just film the stage show to avoid hate.

Yes, people are so passionate about that show that if they even mess up the movie a little, it might cause New York to be burned down. Schwartz would be sacrificed.

Have you seen any shows live? or been in/ worked on any plays?
User avatar #1350 - richardgrayson (02/08/2015) [-]
Professional shows, I've only seen Rent, Hairspray and In the Heights (favorite). I've helped direct and acted in a few plays in my school though. How about you?
User avatar #1357 - Phantomgal (02/08/2015) [-]
Professional shows iv seen are Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion king, The book of Mormon, and Wicked. I acted in a few High school/ high school aged shows and did costumes and sets
User avatar #1377 - richardgrayson (02/08/2015) [-]
What kind of shows did you do?
User avatar #1403 - Phantomgal (02/08/2015) [-]
Iv been in Alice in wonderland, Oklahoma, Oliver and Company, the Rhymers of Eldich, I did a bunch of set work/ costumes for other shows like Girl in the Mirror, Bang Bang you dead, our town , mixed nuts, and acted in a bunch monologues, scenes, and student peices
User avatar #1416 - richardgrayson (02/08/2015) [-]
That is sort of a lot. I'm guessing your school was really big on arts
User avatar #1420 - Phantomgal (02/08/2015) [-]
Not really it was sports that ruled, all but one of the shows i was actually in where off campus. We had a small theater, and mostly donated stuff, we did less popular plays that we could get the rights to for cheap( we only did a musical every 4 years due to the cost) But In California I guess I did get more chances to find stuff to act in.
User avatar #1435 - richardgrayson (02/08/2015) [-]
My school was like that too, I guess most high schools are. That's cool though that where you're at in California had plenty of theater stuff around.
User avatar #1436 - Phantomgal (02/08/2015) [-]
Well im close enough to Hollywood that the theater bug kinda leaked out.
User avatar #1452 - richardgrayson (02/08/2015) [-]
Really? most people that I know that have lived near Hollywood, tend to stay away from theater stuff and want to do film.
User avatar #1458 - Phantomgal (02/08/2015) [-]
Im just saying living near a place that is know for acting and such gives you more opportunitys then say Nebraska
User avatar #1476 - richardgrayson (02/08/2015) [-]
Definitely true, I know the only reason that I'm into theater, is because I was surrounded by people who were interested in theater.
