nah man, normal functioning black people, people i've hung out with and been friendly enough with actually truly believe and hold within their social belief core that black people cannot be racist due to the fact they are black and have had "such prejudice" against them.

Ugh, did anyone even see the movie? Him saying "Racist? Dude, I'm black."Isn't him saying "I'm black, so I can't be racist" it's him saying "I'm black, I'm a minority as well, why would I want to be racist when it will just hurt me."

The connotation isn't that you can't be racist, it's that it's less likely for you to be racist. While were in airports let's use the Nexus program example. Having Nexus doesn't mean you're not a terrorist, it just means you're less likely to be.

We aren't talking the movie here, ALOT of black people, both nig nogs and normal functioning ones who live in society really do believe they can't be racist because they are black and that is the logic to it. Even if you are claiming to be a minority and in your mind wouldnt do something racist purposefuly they do things that are racist and claim they are not racist actions because they are blacks, a group that is a targeted minority so therefore cannot be racist.. and even if we are talking the movie.. yes that is exactly what he is saying and implying when he says "dude im black" don't try to spin a sjw turn on a comedy movie that GW smokes dank herb in mate. There was "im just a tsa guy doing my job" aspect to the joke, but then the joke switched to a racial one about the black guy being a matthew perry lookin motherfucker.

This is fucking Harold and Kumar, you honestly think that they even know what a fucking SJW is? That's not what the line means.
The point is that this is a fucking comedy website, and this is supposed to be a funny post from a movie. I don't give a shit if there are some black people who think they can't be racist, it's exhausting for every post to be hijacked so people can whine about oh so hard it is to be white.

They used to sell each other bec they were from another tribe and didn't matter. Blacks descriminate against themselves just as much as others just like everyone else honestly should.

I don't know what point you're attempting to make. But I disagree with it.

Probably their point is that black people cannot be racist because racism is prejudice plus power.

Which is a ridiculous assertion that's both ignorant and racist. Black people do in fact have power and influence that can effect and harm others.

Holding people to completely different standards in the same society because of nothing but their race, is racism. The radical left wing racist dipshits that push this idea evidently have influence, as seen by what they've done on college campuses.

You don't have to like the right wing racism you can see sometimes on funnyjunk, but a bunch of people on the left are horrible, probably even more horrible, and I say that as someone who's also left wing.

Perceived power. If a person truly believes they are superior then by their own frame of reference we can classify them as racists.

>Perceived power.

Perception can be different from reality, and to pre-judge people so quickly is a form of prejudice and in this case the prejudice is about someone's race changing their power. It's a racial prejudice.

> If a person truly believes they are superior then by their own frame of reference we can classify them as racists.

That's nonsense. A belief in some sort of personal superiority is not the cause of racism. Kobe Bryant is a superior basketball player to me, and he'd be right to think that, but by your logic, Kobe thinking that would make him racist, which is absurd.

Perhaps you don't mean it that way, but it sounds like a confusion of superiority with racial superiority. Racial superiority is just one form of racism. A racist could think all sorts of things about people based on their race, feeling superior is just one of many possible generalizations they could make.

I did mean racially superior considering the topic was about race.

But racism the absolute belief that one or all aspects of one race is superior to another race
And therefore the race itself is superior.

For example I think Asians are typically better at art and maths than other races. But I don't think this makes them a superior race. I think African Americans make for much better athletes in terms of the odds against the race as a whole (a black guy has higher odds to be a successful athlete than a white guy at a percentage of their respective populations)
But I don't automatically assume that a black athlete will always be better than a white athlete.

However I do understand your meaning about forms of racism not being based on superiority. But these would be classed more as ignorant than outwardly racist. Saying all Asians look alike would be ignorant but I wouldn't say racist because a case could be made that due to not being exposed to Asian cultures as predominantly as western culture, we can't notice as many differences between facial features of Asians than we can for white people.

I prefer white women over black or Latino. Not to say I find blacks or Latinos unattractive. I have and would hook up with a black women or a Latino. I just don't find them as appealing as white women. It's not their race so much as my perception of beauty. I think white women are a different type of beautiful than black women. I prefer my black women a different way, different features and sometimes different personalities than I would a white woman.

Is it racist though? I prefer brunettes to blondes, but I like my blondes to be really brash and almost man eater quality, but my brunettes I prefer shy and kinda nerdy.

I think people confuse genuine ignorance with malicious ignorance and conclude all racial comments to be racist. I would say I'm a little racist, I do get feelings towards certain aspects of a race, i can't help them, however I do question them, are they founded judgements?

We all have a little racism in us. It's not a bad thing. It becomes bad when we start letting it affect our actions in the real world to a degree it actively infringes on the rights of another, simply because they weren't the preferred race.

So while I will happily interview a black guy to be the new manager of my large business, give him the job because he is the best candidate, date a black girl because we connect on an emotional level, I'm still gonna be weary of hooded black guys loitering around my car. And it's not something I can help, I will always be weary just because I'm ignorant of their intentions. But while I can't help it I can bypass it. And I choose to bypass it because I'm not ignorant to my own ignorance. I'm a functional racist.

sorry for the long post I'm really high and not sure I'm making sense

Ah okay, thanks for explaining your thoughts and point of view in more detail and with such honesty.

I do agree with a number of your ideas. I don't think racism isn't evil per se, it's a bad idea, it becomes an evil when its wronging people. Bad ideas aren't evil, but what people do about them can be. You can also hope that bad ideas don't become widely believed.

Tons of people all over the globe have some racist ideas. White people never had a monopoly on bad ideas. There is racism to be found and stupidity to be found all over.

I don't think your personal preferences in beauty (or how one may want their kid to looks like them) are racist, they're just what you're attracted to or want.

I think racism is about generalizing and pre-judging people by their race. It's the thinking that someone's race determines who they are. It's ignorance in the sense that if someone is all knowing they'd know the person and judge them perfectly based on who they are, not based on a demographic generalization or bad experiences with others of the same race.
