Yes their job is less important because its meant for people who have never had a job or for kids who are still in school/collage. Find and better job or start your own business.

So everyone just has the money and ability to just go and start there own business? And what happens when you put everything you have into that small business only to have it fail? Cause that's what happens to the vast majority of small businesses, they just go under.

Also, who the fuck says "those jobs" are just for kids? Ive worked with people with fucking batchelors degrees, wanna know why? CAUSE THERE NO FUCKING WORK ANYWHERE ELSE!

If your argument is "LOL, get a real job faggot" then you've clearly never been in any kind of financially straining situation.

The only reason I replied to you in the first place is because of that little bit at the end of your first post in the thread.

I took the more literal route when looking at the cartoon because you can protest corporate greed and still support capitalism.

At this point, I'm not really confused about anything. You've answered the only question I had, which was what you were talking about: The post and not the cartoon, when I was talking about the cartoon.

The android phone aside, what does this have to do with my argument? No matter which way I look at it, your original post was still wrong because the political cartoon was not mocking those who protest Capitalism, but was about mocking those who protest corporate greed.

I agree that Android is greedy, but what corporation isn't? At least it doesn't go as far as other big companies like Disney or Google.

There might be some confusion here. Perhaps you understand my side, but I don't understand yours or vice-versa. But there's still some confusion.

The cartoon is mocking anti-capitalists, that's why the user originally posted it. You know google owns Android right?

What exactly are you confused about? Ill attempt to clarity my position, but you gotta help me know what i need to clear up.

Capitalism =/= corporate greed...

Capitalism is a society based on large corporations who give us the majority of our products without owning everything, so smaller businesses can still find work. It is an ideology

Corporate greed is trying to get as close to a monopoly as possible by buying smaller companies and using them to get you even more money. It is a big problem.

Corporate greed does come from capitalism, but only because of corruption which, shocker, everything large experiences eventually.

While a local cafe, an android phone, or a shirt without a corporate logo does still participate in Capitalism, it does not instantly participate in corporate greed. Why? Because while Android is greedy, it isn't Apple greedy. While a local cafe may want money, it only wants money to survive and to continue serving customers. While a shirt without a logo on it still has a brand, it doesn't advertise it on the product. See what I'm saying?

Ok, lets start out with the basics. If we are going to have a political discussion we should use terms as they are defined, not as we see them. Can we agree on that?

So lets start with what Capitalism is. Strictly speaking Capitalism is any economic system where the means of production and distribution of a country are controlled by private citizens and groups other than the state in pursuit of profit, or capital. Hence the name Capitalism. Capitalism isnt so much an ideology itslef, there are Capitalists ideologies but capitalism itself isn't an ideology just because its to vague a term. And to set the record straight, small businesses are have pretty much no effect on the economy, they're pretty much negligible in terms of what the actually contribute to the economy even though 99% of businesses are small businesses. You wanna know how many corporations and businesses actually run the majority of the US economy? Its about 100, and most of those are actually owned by bigger corporations. The sad truth is that the game is more rigged than most people ever think is possible, its fucking scary. They pay big bucks to make people think that if you buy THEIR products your some how more ethical than the other guy when truth be told almost everything you buy is made by people who are almost as bad off economically as chattel slaves. If you think that one corporation is somehow more ethical than another, it generally means you've never given enough of a shit to look into there actual practices and will eat up whatever their marketing department throws at you. By the way, the Marketing and Public relations is just a nice way of saying Propaganda. But they dont like to use that word because it makes people realize that they're fucking lying to them so they buy their product.

Do you think Android is making phones to make the world a better place? No, its because they want fucking money. Wanna know how much it cost to make that smart phone you got? I don't know, but ill bet my left nut it cost less to make then what you fucking paid for it. See what IM saying?

There is an alternative, it's just an uncomfortable alternative that you don't want to choose dummy.

If you don't like clothes made by capitalism you can make your own clothes, it is possible.

If you don't like food sold by corporations you can grow your food, its possible.

It's just hard. It's meant to show anti capitalist idiots that all of the luxuries they have have been given to them by capitalism, and their lives would be considerably harder without it.

You can hate capitalism and still benefit from it, it just makes you a massive hypocritical douche whose too lazy to truly stand by their shitty ideas.

It's not about "oh hey you're still fueling capitalism" it's about how they don't slightly in convenience themselves to practice what they preach.

Sure you're going to "fuel capitalism" with whatever you do, but the OWS types could avoid contributing much to the kinds of corporations they were so up in arms about.

Otherwise it comes off as "this whole system is terrible! Someone else fix it for me!"
#66 - realitycheck (09/05/2015) [-]
SOMEONE isn't getting the point. Hate to drop the clue on you, but the issue is that the OWS crowd are protesting "capitalism" but they don't even know what it IS.

The point of the political cartoon is the hypocrisy of protesting corporate greed while also feeding it. Instead of getting McDonalds, an iPhone and wearing a coca-cola t-shirt, why not get something from a local cafe, grab an Android phone and wear something that DOESN'T have a corporate logo on it? If the political cartoon were about protesting capitalism, then your argument would work, but this is corporate greed we're talking about, not capitalism altogether.

> why not get something from a local cafe, grab an Android phone and wear something that DOESN'T have a corporate logo on it

You realize just because it android or a local cafe or a shirt that isn't covered in corporate logs its still comes out of capitalism right? Android isn't any less capitalist than apple, It still capitalist, its still corporate greed, just because they have better marketing campaign to make you think that they're less evil than the other guys doesn't mean they actually are.

Just the OS. The actual phones are made by other manufacturers, well except for the Nexus line.
