yeah, we normally call mars "the red planet" even though it is brown and nasa just filters it to not confuse commoners.

Black and white photograph of planetoids? First reaction is most likely gonna be "oh hey, the moon".

Babies all look like squishy sacs of flesh with no discernible features relating to one person or another.

Babies are also not cute. Ever. They're the spawn of Satan and Adobe flash player updates.

well there is no hot air/cold air currents on the moon so the temperature stays the same. And since weather is non existant it never changes.

We're talking about Mars though :p

But yeah, I think they'd have to take the average temperature; Mars's atmosphere us much thinner than ours so areas closer to the equator would be a lot hotter than the areas near the poles. That being said, 29 degrees celsius seems like it's a bit hot, if they do in fact measure the average surface temperature, because of this huge variation in atmospheric density...

The point of the episode was old people saying what they think about kids these days.
#85 - ideae (01/01/2014) [-]
There is such a thing as confirmation bias, you know. They believed in most of the stuff they said about kids today because they thought HTF was meant for kids. If they had been shown something like Dora the Explorer, they would have instead said that cartoons had become too monotonous and mindless.
#12 - slunchy (01/01/2014) [-]
I've always hated that bullshit.
The word "cartoon" doesn't automatically mean it's a kids product. It pisses me off even more when people say "It's just a cartoon, it doesn't have to be good" or "It's a kid's show". That's like saying you don't care about what your children intake, or that they don't deserve better. I'd much rather show my kids Ed, Edd 'N Eddy that modern Spongebob. The new seasons destroy their attention spans.

while this theory is certainly portrayed as true by the people of Mundus, could it actually be that there is space but no one has traveled to space yet? Therefore, the way the people explain what they see in the night sky is through their lore of the Magna Ge.

but if there is no space, how come when you look up at the sky at night in skyrim, you can see other planets?
unless they are in oblivion. forgive me for not knowing, i just got my first elder scrolls game like 3 or 4 days ago.

there are no other planets, what you see are the two moons of Nirn, Masser and Secunda, that are supposed to be the corpse of Lorkhan
#39 - part (12/29/2013) [-]
The moons and such are how the eyes perceive different dimensions.
