Yeah sure, I see what you mean there. I've got a stylus for my Windows tablet and it makes using it a dream. But even still, battery life, weight, screen resolution/size, and input method. You could also include the hybrid tablets like the Samsung Ativ, and I suppose the Surface (Not sure if that counts as a hybrid). But even still you're very limited on the different form factors and input methods you can discuss and compare,

But you could go over all the different hardware form-factors and compare them for a couple episodes comparing different models and such pros and cons from a student's point of view, but when you run out of different types of devices to talk about you can then start talking about software.... eg Evernote and alternatives, sync programs, encryption... MS office alternatives... (I dunno what else off the top of my head, I know what I need for my uni course, but it's almost specific to my course).

Basically I'm thinking you'll run out of stuff to talk about if you limit yourself to just hardware platforms (they'll also get a bit boring if you review very similar platforms)

I'm just a negative nancy, take the suggestions I've given, and go for it dude

You know that's not a bad idea; I could also take a look at apps and whatnot available for the tablets and computers I review. I have a couple of good app recomendations of the top of my head I could do so that's some more content right there. Thanks dude, love the advice

Now as soon as I get used to using Lightworks I'll start making some content

nice, I would give it a go then, as a student it seems like it would be useful.

I'm sure I've just got the wrong Idea about your questions. But your example question is more of a platform question. So for your question "how does tablet X handle taking notes?" Well it all depends on what software you've got in there....

Maybe you should do a software review channel? Get a windows tab, a windows RT tab, an android and an iPad and do reviews on all the different things you can do.

I know it's just an example, but I try to think of other student related questions and most of them boil down to software and Operating system platform. The only few exceptions are screen rez/size, weight and battery life.

I suppose the software part would be in the review anyway so there's no point limiting yourself. But that's my 2 cents

Well, you're right in a way, but that doesn't account for the wide variety of hardware the software supports. Take a look at Samsung's Note 10.1 tablet and a Nexus 10. Both are Android tablets, sure, but the Note 10.1 has a Wacom digitizer which allows for writing or drawing with a pen. It's pretty obvious how that difference come into play when you're a student

So I guess it would be a review of both the hardware and software, just like you said

I actually really like this idea, though, assuming you are a student you should probably be aware a project like this would require so much money as unless you plan on reviewing only the stuff you currently have your gunna have to buy alot of stuff to review.

Luckily for me my dad is a huge tech nut, so I have a small collection of gadgets and gizmos I could review. Another thing I could do is borrow some of my friends gadgets as well, since he collects these kinds of things
