Romney when he doesn't get...
- Yup I did and I saw that Romney is full of ****. The speeches …
Romney when he doesn't get...
Romney wasn't at the democratic convention. You seem a little confused.
The Colbert report is a liberal comedy show. If think they're bound by facts in the least, then you're deluded. They would make fun of Romney if he cured cancer. That's what they do.
I saw a liberal "fact check" of Romney's speech, and they basically admit the things he was saying are true, but try and put them in a context that's more favorable for Obama. Kind of like how Ryan's speech was "fact checked". The best response to that was this one.
"The bottom line is that the fact checker criticisms of Ryan's speech come in only one form: "Yes it's true, but here's some context that Democrats want to talk about." That's not fact checking; that's advocacy. And it's not persuasive, it's absurd."
It seems to me that this is an emotional issue to you more than anything based on your last 2 sentences. So let me address that. Obama is an asshole compared to Mitt Romney. He doesn't even give a fuck about his family members who are poor. Romney has done an unknown number of acts of kindness and charity. Unknown because he keeps quiet about it and since it doesn't fit the media's narrative, they go unreported. Just a couple of examples I know about:
Ellen K. Hummel whose father died when she was 5 asked Romney for a loan to go to medical school, he gave it, then later forgave the loan as a "Christmas" present.
Kim Clark called Romney to give his son a blessing in the hospital. Romney responded, then stayed the night with the family even after it was clear the teenager would recover.
An elderly lady ran out of heating oil, so Romney and his sons got firewood, drove to her place, started a fire, and dropped of the wood. The woman's name is unknown because Romney doesn't talk about the story.
When one of Romney's employees daughter went missing he basically shut down operations and repurposed the company leadership toward finding the girl.
There's also this story:
After his friend and neighbor Joseph O’Donnell lost a son, Joey, to cystic fibrosis. . .Romney helped lead a community effort to build Joey’s park, a playground.
Belmont. “There he was with a hammer in his belt, the Mitt nobody sees,” O’Donnell said.
Romney didn’t stop there. About a year later, it became apparent that the park would need regular maintenance and repairs. “The next thing I know, my wife calls me up and says, ‘You’re not going to believe this, but Mitt Romney is down with a bunch of Boy Scouts and kids and they’re working on the park,’” said O’Donnell. . . .”He did it for like the next five years, without ever calling to say, ‘We’re doing this,’ without a reporter in tow, not looking for any credit.”
Romney also anonymously paid for 7,000 pints of milk to be delivered to the VA hospital in Boston (for at least 2 years) because when he asked them what they really needed they said they needed milk.
When his wife fell ill with MS he stayed by her side, and I think basically quit his job to just take care of her until she started to recover.
This is probably just the tip of the iceberg of charitable acts Romney's done. If you can look up all these stories, in the places where they're actually told, not just listed, read them and you don't feel anything, then there's something wrong with you.
Oh, and lest I forget he worked as Governor of Massachusetts for free. He donated his pay for being CEO to charity. He donated additional money to the Olympics. He used the entire inheritance he got from his father to start an entrepreneurship center in his father's name. When Bain & Company (parent company of Bain Capital) came into financial difficulty they asked Romney to come be their CEO, which he did for 2 years with a salary of $1/year.
1) he knows how to manage money
2) his wife has had 2 extremely lethal diseases and he took care of her while running the olympics, i think he can understand struggle
3) obama literally bailed out the largest auto companies and banks so wtf?!?!
4) just because obama is black doesnt mean he understands the poor any better
A lot of people talk about economic policies of both parties like they are shit. In reality, both systems work. There are a lot of ways to make the economy work, and whether we go Romneys rout, or Obama's it will work out (so long as we stick with that one rout) the reason I support Obama is because of his social views. I don't think our country should be run on religious principles when not everyone in the country belongs to that religion.
Economics is complicated, and if you're not an expert in it, you probably don't have much ground to stand on when criticizing either of them from that stand point (I am by no means an expert). The economy will get better or it won't, the president probably wont do too much to effect that.
I dont like them both
