I think it's too abstract. All those are different "births," if you will. Why does getting greyscale mean he was born again? He was hardly born again when Dany stepped into the pyre, and "has the blood of the dragon" can't really be stretched to "well perhaps maybe he kills a dragon?"

I love Jorah, but it's reaching

But think about all the times that the dragons have lashed out at Dany, do you honestly think that Ser Jorah wouldn't slaughter the three dragons in a moment's notice if it meant saving Dany?
#69 - sacrilegious (07/01/2015) [-]
I agree, I'm sure he would to protect her. I don't think it means he has the blood of the dragon.
User avatar #71 - tenaciouslee (07/01/2015) [-]
But, that's a double-edged sword, because "blood of the dragon", could mean either actual dragon blood or Targeryan blood, as the prophecy spoke of, or rather, the last part, where Azor Ahai worked his sword for 100 days and nights, and tempered it in the blood of his wife. Perhaps, if Ser Jorah was going to be the prince that was promised, he'd have to temper the blade in Dany's blood, and save Westeros.
#72 - sacrilegious (07/01/2015) [-]
This is all true - I think that happening could really bolster the Jorah theory, but I think the other elements are weak for now.
User avatar #74 - tenaciouslee (07/01/2015) [-]
It's not concrete, but if George. R. R. Martin is dedicated to going against modern fantasy tropes, that'd be one helluva way to do it, seeing as everybody figures that either Jon Snow or Danaerys Targeryan will end up saving Westeros. On the note of the two, if I were to choose a likelier character for the prophecy, it'd be Jon Snow, seeing as he has Longclaw, which can already kill White Walkers.
User avatar #70 - tenaciouslee (07/01/2015) [-]

Guess we hit the reply limit.

I haven't finished Dance yet, so I'll refrain from choosing a side, but I rather think Jon or Dany will do it, just as a send-up of his send-up of fantasy tropes.

Well, the theory is about the prophecy in the show, that a prince would return to Westeros and slay the White Walkers and end the night. People automatically thought about Danaerys Targeryan and Jon Snow, because they both fit the bill(Blood of the Dragon, Born of Salt and Smoke, Has the Blood of the Dragon(I'll go into more depth about that on the note of Jon if you wish), Born under a Bleeding Star and with Dragons in tow), but the theory states that Ser Jorah Mormont fits the bill as well, Born of Salt, check, when he sailed across the sea with Tyrion and got Greyscale, born of Smoke, same as Danaerys when she burnt Khal Drogo and emerged from the flames with the dragons, has the blood of the Dragon doesn't necesserally mean Targeryan blood, perhaps he kills one of Dany's dragons? And he was also under the bleeding star.

TL;DR Ser Jorah Mormont perfectly fits the bill for the prophecy, there's a whole video on it, and that bit I mentioned about Jon if you want the links to both.

But having the blood of the dragon could mean tempering his sword in the blood of the dragon.
#76 - sacrilegious (07/01/2015) [-]
Guess we hit the reply limit.

I haven't finished Dance yet, so I'll refrain from choosing a side, but I rather think Jon or Dany will do it, just as a send-up of his send-up of fantasy tropes.
User avatar #78 - tenaciouslee (07/01/2015) [-]
He's said himself that he deliberately goes against tropes. So if Jon or Dany does it, he'll have lied. I strongly believe that Jorah will do it.

I understand that, had Ned lived, the show couldn't've had had more than one season, but damn, I grew attached to him hella fast.
