Well as a writer and video game designer, I've had to learn extensively about the actual effects of different bullets on the human body so I can represent things accurately. The punchline is that unless it's a rifle round (like the 5.56mm), a couple shots to your torso won't bring pretty much anyone down. I've seen tons of footage of people being shot in the torso by pistol rounds and just running away, not collapsing as media would have you believe.

The difference between the 9mm and .45ACP in damage to tissue is marginal at best.

to be fair shot placement is most important, but their is a reason bigger bullets are made. i myself would grab my 45 before i grab 9mm, but that is honestly just me, the amount of bleeding dose affect ones performance in battle. dose adrenaline kick in. yes, dose multiple rounds of 45, bring down someone faster then multiple shots of 9mm, yes. 9mm offers better, range, accuracy and ammo capacity then bigger rounds. so yes a man trained with 9mm will kill more then a man with 45. but i prefer my 45. because if he has no blood left, he can't fight. both will kill one just kills faster...

Literally no one has ever said "Hah, if only you had shot me with a cartridge that is negligibly larger you would have got me!" You're pulling false info out of your ass.

you obviously didn't read the whole conversation so i encourage you to do so, i was talking about my experience with hunting and the impact bigger bullets have on the amount a deer can run and the amount of blood on the ground. do i got sources or links to site my claims no. but i know what iv'e seen and what i have shot. you can kill anybody with proper bullet placement from any bullet i am not disputing that, but you may not always get the perfect shot.

>45 bringing people down faster than 9mm

Gonna need some sources for this. The problem I keep trying to explain to people is that just because you're bleeding to death doesn't mean you are going to collapse and stop fighting or running. So I'd need a source saying it takes less body shots (no headshots) to kill someone with a 45 than with a 9mm.

I will argue that a 45 is slightly than 9mm better at killing people via headshots only, but that's only if you're aiming between their eyes at the thickest part of the skull. And that ultimately doesn't mean the slight advantage of energy is going to make up for the disadvantages of the 45 that you yourself mentioned.

Don't mistake me, I'm not in any way trying to belittle your choice in round. The 45 is fine. I'm just trying to dispel myths about its godlike killing properties.

by no means will it stop a man dead in his tracks better then a 9mm will, it is all about shot placement. it is not the hand of god raining down death while 9mm is a pea shooter, but a 45 hole will bleed more then a 9mm hole. in a long drawn out fight blood loss is a major issue. i do have sources so you can dismiss my claim. but in my hunting experience, a bigger hole like a 45/70 makes, will lead to much greater blood loss then say a 243. sure either way the deer still might run, but the bigger bullet will make it run allot shorter. they 45. is my choice simply because ive seen what bigger holes do to living things but you are right, if i can place my shot then hell all bullets have equal killing potential. but you may not always get the perfect placement. stopping power is a myth, blood loss is not

Some retards legit think this is the case, for others like me it's a joke. Stopping power is a myth, shot placement is what it counts and when it comes to pistol rounds body shots won't instantly drop people whether it's 9mm or .45ACP.
User avatar #12246 - LonelyCamel (02/20/2015) [-]
ya that's what I think really, when it comes to pistols I shoot got fun, I don't really know the statistics for how effective one round is against another and honestly most of us are civilians, we don't have to worry about the actual stopping power of our guns, we should just enjoy shooting them
