That makes since, I always thought the ic was some kind of op amp and they were going a different route then a voltage regulator. So then you would need a couple resistors. But that would still cost under 10 bucks.

Sure it's going to piss them off, but that won't really help the families that these have been harassing. This is basically giving them another reason to hate gays and go to soldiers funerals and "protest".

There is a lt123A voltage regulator that outputs 3 amps. Then you could have 3 outputs. But when ever I take apart charger I notice they always have some kind of 8 pic ic in it. I never really got around to see what that ic is.

Oh, yes, I remember now. It's hard to charge apple devices, they're designed to only charge on certain chargers (whose manufacturers presumably paid a sizable sum to apple).
The IC talks to the device and is loaded with some proprietary program, but there's another way to do it. The data pins of the usb port need to be held at specific voltages with voltage dividers. I don't remember the specifics but I read it somewhere a time ago.

A 7805 is a bit inefficient, and produces a good bit of heat.
I built one and encountered this when I nearly burnt myself....

More likely it's a switching regulator chip, which requires an extra inductor and capacitor on the output, but is much more efficient and runs far cooler. Still cheap and easy.

Actually something similar was discussed in another comment thread. According to OP, Shell is working on ways to keep the fuel (I'll assume something like methane) at a liquid state when not under pressure or kept at sub zero temps. I think the ultimate goal is to just let cars pump it without any modifications.

Wouldn't that be lovely?
#297 - Lambda (06/25/2013) [-]
Hmm, I don't know if that's possible or not to keep it liquid under low pressure without some degree of refrigeration. It has kind of a weird-looking phase diagram. I'm not entirely sure what its properties would be in the 2-phase region.

It is unknown why he even had that first experience on LSD. By his report, the experience lasted two hours and abruptly faded away. Even a small dose of LSD lasts at least six hours. It is theorized that it was something else entirely that caused him the trip, and that makes the discovery of LSD possibly the biggest coincidence of all.
#40 - anon (06/25/2013) [-]
Pretty sure he took multiple table spoons of liquid L. The purest of the pure. "White on white", "Phamily Phluff", or "Swiss Crystals" as the hippies call it. He couldn't ride his bike home. Sounds like a blast.
User avatar #73 - Lambda (06/25/2013) [-]
After that first time, he tried an experiment, taking what he thought was a threshold dose. He was wrong, though, what he took was a very high dose. Resulting in his memorable bicycle ride. That was the first LSD trip of all.
