Now it is your turn to be tested. Why can the magnet not be easily turned off?

Well if it is a permanent magnet you can't, if it is supercooled you need to quench the cooling procedure by evaporating the helium that keeps the magnet cooled. This is expensive and only done in emergencies.

You'd be correct. Quench the magnet and you lose a lot of that expensive liquid helium. As soon as it loses superconductivity, the energy stored in the magnet is converted to heat and it boils off the helium.

They are super easy to grow. And they put out shoots that you need to move to another flowerpot so they don't get too crowded, so pretty soon you have 20 of the damn things. Also good for burns and other small pains. Just pinch off a bit off a leaf and squeeze the jelly out.
