>My 42 year old carbureted pre-catalytic converter car with 40,000 miles that's never run above an A/F equivalence ratio of 0.9 and has been fully restored and/or never left the garage still runs. That means your fuel-injected 1999 subaru with 5 times the miles that's been emissions-controlled to hell and still runs isn't a feat at all.
You could completely ignore a '99 subaru through its entire lifespan and it would still be in better shape than anything made by GM in the era you're referencing.

There are stories of people hitting 500k in old mustangs and other GM era cars. It's all about proper maintenance and taking care of your vehicle. I ignore Subarus in general for a more personal reason that has no place in a discussion about technical reasoning, so I'll leave that thought out of this discussion.
I'm just saying that, if you treat your vehicle like crap and don't properly maintain it, the thing's gonna go to shit faster than you can say "It'll cost HOW much?!" This is just universal, antique muscle car or daily driver.

That's why it is good to have a wingman. If you get into a spot of trouble, you can usually Thach Weave to get someone off your tail. The cannons on the Ju-87 D5 will do the rest. It also helps that the D5 spawns with the bombers, so anyone climbing for you is fresh meat.
