"Massive ammounts of damage"
Where did you get that from, I've know people who used this method there entire live and have had the same car for more than 10 years without any problems with the clutch

because friction clutch dont like big sloop

It is not so fatal as if side 2 of the clutch is blocke and side 1 gives full power with the motor, because they stand partially on the clutch. By this they Lower the friction between the two sides, but it is still generates more wear and more heat than beeing in neutral gear.
This is also damages the bearings of the clutch (i dont know how this bearing is called in english, the one that holds the moving side)

Depending on your clutch, they do not like heat, but newer car clutchs wont burn out as fast

Pfffff you can also onnly use the brake you just need balls of steel and after a while you'll get used to the ninjalike speed you need to make it even with someone 2mm behind you. But then again I'm used to driving Italy in the mountains.
#82 - creator incarnate (07/02/2016) [-]
They teach you this in (at least) Belgium (and as far as I know from friends in the surrounding countries too).
It's part of the standard driving test, it's actually the first thing they made me do on my driving test.
The reason they teach this (as far as I know) is to prevent roll-back when starting on a hill with another car behind you.
You're already on the balance point to get the car moving, so al you need to do is play with the peddals to give it some gas and release the clutch slowly. As opposed to releasing the brake peddal and having to move your foot to the gas peddal, which allows the car to move backward.

Wait, what would Belgium know about hill starts anyways?

If you use the handbrake both of your feet are free to do what you want. just seems like shitty practice to me. Not to mention the massive amounts of damage you'll cause to your clutch from doing so.

Omega used to be the highest rank, being given to mutants who's powers can affect the entire planet or the people on it. Alpha is a rank higher, being given to folks like Franklin who's powers reach even beyond that.

And yeah, Santa Claus is a high-ranked Omega. He was the most powerful when he was introduced, but he's probably been beaten by now.

#51 - presidentmoose (07/01/2016) [-]
Santa Clause is actually the most powerful registered mutant
#52 - Killeratdawn (07/01/2016) [-]
santa clause is only "presumed" to have certain powers. he's only ever been in 1 short story involving the xmen and the brotherhood. so he's presumed to have certain powers because of what he did in the story and because the story we get told where he travels the world in one night giving presents to kids

1. i didn't buy a new pc a year ago, learn to read.
2. i bought my current PC in the fall of 2011.
3. when you say "generation" what do you mean? because i don't think it means what you think it means.
4. i wasn't really complaining in my original post, was i now? i just said it lagged while my other games didn't, and that for that reason alone it was time for a new card, despite having a "new" one (really just a replacement, so my bad for not clarifying on that) installed recently.
