By thinking, I assumed Left side meant that there is now a possibility that you can get this.
But only if you do Right side.

Logically consistent arguments made from a true premise are as factually true as something can be. That's how good science and philosophy are born.
In terms of damage done, I think we need to recalibrate what that means. The USA spends 2 billion dollars a month on the drug war; well over 60 000 people have died on or around the Mexican border with the States. In terms of damage (life and economic) how do you get worse than this?
Couple this with the fact that drug use drops after legalization (see Portugal, Netherlands, Switzerland) and hospital treatment for narcotics use increases in equal amounts, we can see why.
tl;dr: I agree with you; do illegal shit and you should expect to be arrested. The drug war is just a travesty on top of that.

Oh yeah I'm with you guys on the war on drugs situation I don't agree with that either. I'm not exceptionally well versed in the subject since I don't and don't plan on doing any drugs whether they stay illegal or become legal so it doesn't exactly interest me that much. But even I see that the war on drugs is dumb.

Well,
1) That kind of mentality of yours usually leads to police states and thought control. We should absolutely rebel against laws that literally make no fucking sense and deny us our rights.
2) The laws are hypocritical. Alcohol and tobacco are legal, combined they cause around 560 thousand deaths per year in the united states alone. If the governments of the world were truly concerned about safety they would ban ALL harmful drugs.
3) Literally nothing good comes from drug control. Most cartels and criminal organizations get most of their income from the drug trade, if drugs were legalized they would not only cripple most of organized crime, but possibly completely destroy it. And i'm not just speaking out of my ass here, what happened when the US outlawed alcohol?Al Capone's net worth was $1.3 billion for fucks sake.

4) At the very least the entire system needs to be completely revised.
For example:
Marijuana, MDMA, Ecstasy, LSD and Psilocybin are all schedule 1 drugs along with Heroin and bath salts!
What the shitting fuck! And the definition of a Schedule 1 drug is "Extremely dangerous to user, and has no medical benefit". Heroin and bath salts deserve to be controlled since they are dangerous and addictive, not only causing harm to the user but to others around him(like the no-face hobo), LSD, Ecstasy(MDMA too) and Psilocybin have been found effective in treating various mental illnesses and there have been no recorded deaths from all but Ecstasy (and this is due to dehydration since it's most commonly taken in raves where it's hot and people forget to drink water hail hydrate ). Marijuana also has no recorded deaths and has been proven to successfully treat some forms of carcinoma along with providing relief from pain, chemotherapy and increasing appetite.
This proves that the whole schedule system was designed by people who had no idea what the fuck they were doing.
And this is just the medical side of the argument, not to mention that a lot of these drugs are fun as fuck (excluding Bath salts and heroin(while heroin can be fun at first, it stops being so very quickly and destroys your life)).

I'd write more but i have to go (Like the number of people incarcerated simply because they had a plant on their person). Drug laws are bullshit and we should take every opportunity we can to dismantle it.

I'm just gonna steer clear of the stuff though, including alcohol, I'm fine without it.

I think a whole bunch of people who didn't do a bunch of illegal shit should be equally offended by their conversations being recorded without consent.

"Oh gee, these white police officers are yelling at me for sitting at the front. If only I didn't do something illegal."
- Rosa Parks

See why that line of thought might not work?
User avatar #18 - Kazseppi (07/12/2015) [-]
It might not always work, but nothing always works. Or rarely does something always work.

You can disagree with the lawfulness of something. But drugs specifically, everyone knows what's illegal. And they in no way are a basic human right with how destructive they can be (CAN be). So to me, someone who gets caught selling drugs and THEN becomes angry about it is pretty silly.

That only makes sense if the law in question is in any way logical and doesn't repress a basic human right.
User avatar #17 - Kazseppi (07/12/2015) [-]
To an extent. But little to no good comes from illegal drugs anyway. Or at least with how probably 99% of people who use them use them. And laws are laws, if you KNOW something is illegal, whether it makes sense or not, and you do that something you kind of deserve what you get. IMO
