Damn that looks cool, if you get one remember to tell me if it's good. I've always loved the looks of the SVD.

Shit man this is a while down the road. Base model VEPRs which still look pretty good run about $900 but this version sits about $1300, not sure if that stock set is worth $400 to me.
But I have other firearms that I would like to get before a VEPR. I would like a .308 bolt action, probably a Savage, and I need to get a conceal carry handgun, really liking the new Walther CCP for that

If it's an AK you're looking for, pick yourself up a MAK 90. In my limited experience with one it was one of the best shooting rifles I've ever fired. Only real turn off is the look, but I personally like the thumbhole stock.

Since I have an intermediate carbine, my AR15, the AK style rifle I am looking into would actually be a VEPR in 7.62x54R. Theyre built on modified RPK receivers and are damn accurate.

Pic has Atlantic Firearms' SVD style furniture that they have custom made for them

I really like it, but I'm more of an AK guy myself. Tell me, does that angled grip help you much? I've always seen them but I just don't get it when you could have a vertical foregrip.

AKs are nice and the market for them is exploding right now, I would like to pick one up eventually. Hell my AR is actually piston driven if that tells you anything.

Its all preference on how you grip the rifle
I find them more ergonomic than traditional vertical grips.

I'm not a huge fan of polymer walthers. Or polymer guns in general. I think they're rather ugly. I prefer my guns wood and metal. It's actually kept me from buying a WASR-10 for a while now because I've yet to find a good one in a store near me that isn't polymer.
#41 - anon (08/29/2015) [-]
Some people like polymer because it is lighter and doesn't rust if you sweat all over it all the time. Some people like polymer because they prefer function to looks. Polymer guns aren't the guns you show your friends -- they are the guns you show your enemies.

Really? They're all polymer? Where do you live that all your AK variants are polymer? I want to be there.

PA. Why would you? Polymer is so ugly

I think polymer AK's are sexy and 7.62 is my rifle round of choice. I'm a pleb, I know.

I live in the shitty CO where magazine capacities are capped at 10 rounds for rifles and 15 rounds for pistols. I would totally get a new gun if I wasn't poor and didn't own too many already. I have an R700 chambered for .308, anyways. Sits next to my R700 that's chambered for .375 H&H magnum. Yep. Two R700's. Too many guns...

Got anything you're looking to sell thats semi-automatic and a rifle round? (preferably not polymer)
