When I'm talking about murders here and America, I'm talking percentage per people, not total kills, so population has nothing to do with it.

Ireland most certainly does have gangs, and until recently, we had the IRA. Personally, I feel a lot safer without guns, if someone tries to break in to my house, they aren't going to have a gun, and they won't panic and shoot me, and I won't panic and shoot them either.

I never said you didnt have gangs, we just have more. Alot more.
I feel safer with guns. A good part is that, it is more likely for a criminal here to have a gun so I want to protect my self against that, but when it comes down to it, criminals are criminals. They dont obey the law, thats why they are criminals. Why should they care if guns are illegal? If they can get them they will. And the thing with America is that if they tighten on restrictions or do an all out ban, that will just mean people like me wont get to have guns to protect themselves, and since guns and a black market for guns has always been in America, it will be easier for criminals here to get guns then criminals there.

But according to your logic, people who kill people with guns just want to kill people, and would do it without guns anyway. So why am I at less risk here in Ireland?

We have crazy people too....

Because you have less people, less people who want to kill people, less gangs, less black market for illegal weapons. Honestly most of it is that you have less gangs trying to kill each other.
Unfortunately this is a crime ridden country, but its not because of an inanimate object pushing its non-existant will on people to do its non-existant bidding.

Besides I'ved lived outside of Baltimore, highest murder rate in America for 19 years, proud to say I've never been shot.

Well it is true the owning a gun makes you more likely to kill someone, many gun murders are done in the heat of the moment, because they have a gun then and there.

I live in Ireland, guns are completely illegal, not even police have guns. 0.4 out of 100,000 die every year to guns in Ireland, it was over 11 out of every 100,000 in America, that's a clear difference.

I've owned guns for awhile now. My friend has had them since he was 10, and I know many many other people that have owned various firearms for years. You know what we all have in common? We havent killed anyone. We dont want to kill anyone. Owning a gun does NOT make you more likely to kill someone.
The desire to kill someone makes you more likely too.
You give me cold hard proof and Ill believe you. Until that day, that thought process is total bullshit.

crazy people be crazy. i don't even understand how people do that. when people threaten me, i call the fucking cops. i don't act like a big man and bring out my gun. you will only see my gun if my life is in immediate danger. so i want you to sit there and tell me im a danger to society and i don't deserve to protect myself

You are one person with a gun, I don't know you, nothing you say can convince me your a sane person over the internet....

Your gun is one of an obscene amount in America, millions upon millions. Now you tell me that no people in America have anger issues, can be a bit crazy, and maybe give in to a second of impulse.

yep insane people exist...SO GET RID OF THE INSANE PEOPLE...id be fine with a psych test before you can buy guns. but don't take away my ability!

You don't have to be insane, I mean come on, a fairly big percentage of gun murders are done in the heat of the moment, and even if it wasn't a fair few, even if it was only one, isn't one enough?
User avatar

a fair amount of people don't rob houses because they thing "....dude...what if that guy has a gun!" guns are a bigger deterrent than anything. bro i got friends who have schematics for a fully auto mac 10 and yes, they have the tools in their garage to make it...and they make suppressors as well. youll never get rid of the guns. you should teach your kids about, teach them proper gun handling and why you NEVER pull one out unless you are going to shoot. know your target and whats behind it, so on and so forth. all these murderers were probably just kids who didn't get their ass beat enough. THEY are the problem. taking away guns does nothing except create chaos. but they are being smart by "grandfathering" guns will just slowly disappear until all of our teeth are gone...and then the government has us. we literally have no way to fight back with anything. and suddenly a ground fight on US soil isn't so insane for other countries.
