I was just about to say good point, but then I thought about the storage area behind and the employees that have to keep that stocked and well organized.

Unless the robots do that too, then you are right. Still less employees, do good point anyway.
User avatar #124 - IamSofaKingdom (07/19/2015) [-]
I didn't say that the products simply wouldn't exist in the store, I said they would save a whole lot on employees having to regularly maintain them on shelves. Major stores like Walmart or Target actually have the entire third shift just for restocking the shelves. The backroom would become the permanent storage space, which requires less than a third of the current employee numbers and the only movement will be bringing up what is purchased instead of checking, facing and fronting the stock throughout the entire day.

I worked as a stocker for a grocery store for a while, it isn't hard to see what will change.

I have no idea how widespread this is (or isn't), but this is how we do things, sadly.
Someone brings up an issue, people get all excited, and maybe it gets dealt with. There may be worse issues out there, but if they don't elicit an emotional response, they won't get as much attention, and ultimately might nto be dealt with at all.

Think of all the "SHARKS ARE SUPER DANGEROUS" craze. Compared to cars, deer, cows, pretty much any other large animal, sharks are fairly harmless. But they're big, they've got sharp teeth, and they're carnivores. Basically, they seem terrifying. Deer? Not so much.

People are illogical, irrational and emotionally driven beings.

I think the issue is that it's being brought up in science class, where it doesn't belong.
User avatar #67 - IamSofaKingdom (07/18/2015) [-]
Yea, like I said, extremes on both sides. You get the arrogant and the ignorant fighting over the minds of children and not caring what the outcome is, as long as they win.

My main issue with that is that people argue like it is an epidemic even if/when it is a small portion of the population. Just like most social issues that we have gotten for the past decade. Sometimes human beings make me sad, especially when they express mob mentality that old proverb, a person is smart but people are dumb

Lol, Boo Ya I guess. I still just think of the episode. Nothing can taint my memories of that show. That and the first Avatar series were the only non "Saturday morning cartoon" styled shows from America (Like Hey Arnold! or the Weekenders) that I loved. Some of the best cartoons of my childhood.

I was just saying it was, according to the video I watched in College, mostly the women that had the lack of interest. Possibly because of the men not being like they were in the past, but most likely because of all the new pathways they can go down.

The biggest reason for Japan's population is probably their refusal to allow people to settle down in their country from other countries. Lots of tourists, but their numbers aren't actually going up population wise.

It's a shame.

According to some thing I was made to watch in College, it's actually the women that are causing issues in Japan's population. Men are doing it too, but not as much.

Women that used to marry early on in their lives are getting jobs and finding things they enjoy, so they don't want to settle down, and men are working hard to provide income for their aging families. That's what the vid told us, at least.

It's just a messed up system for everyone there, 'cause there simply isn't enough free time for the ones that work hard or settle down, which usually happens at the same time.
User avatar #45 - IamSofaKingdom (07/18/2015) [-]
Oh yea definitely. I wasn't saying games were the direct cause, just that the men were displaying a lack of interest in relationships. It makes it worse that the country has a declining population due to low birth rates coupled with one of the highest suicide rates in the world.
