Is it hard seeing different sides of stories?

Thumbing down all comments that mentions that males have expectations too...

I don't like the competition between the 2. Just because the post says society puts expectations on women doesn't mean it's saying men don't have them. But because it doesn't mention it at all, the male equivalent to feminazis jump on it.

How I see it, the content implied that men don't have any expectations just as much as it spoke about women's expectations, and in that case, bringing it up isn't just to argue for the sake of it, it's arguing against the content.

Well that depends how you interpret the content. I didn't interpret it that way, hence why I didn't like the argumentative posts. Don't tend to like it in general, so if i see it for what I don't think has a cause, it pisses me off. You obviously interpreted it to attack, hence why are were and are debating it now.

Though to go into particulars, I didn't necessarily agree that there's a lot of pressure on men for keeping their body up to standards. Not denying there is, but I think for men, most pressure is on having a stable/ well earning job, so that's why I thumb up/down.

I think by virtue of the fact that the content specifically stated that 'society hasn't told men they must be like something' that they were implying men have more lax social standards to adhere to, or to a lesser extent than women, hence the "male feminazis".
While this may be the case, I think it is more to do with how each gender reacts to social norms, rather than how 'strict' the norms are in the first place.
Pardon the profile creeping, but it's a debate worth having in my opinion.

I don't disagree men have expectations. I just don't like some people's attitudes who go on about 'mens rights blah blah'. It's just trying to argue for the sake of it..Like you are now.
