The original Götheborg ship was built in the 1700's, and sank on its way to China after hitting some underwater rocks (so at least it was more successful than Vasa). The new ship was built to complete that voyage, which I believe it has more than once now.

It's currently residing in the Gothenburg harbor, maybe 500 meters away from where I live.

Huh. Weird. I work at UPS in a fairly unskilled department and women can get 3 months off with job security. The US could choose to have identical social programs these other countries has, but we spend our money in other ways. Personally, some of these seem a little extreme to me, and given the broken nature of the social programs we already... They would have to do a lot of convincing to get me to believe that they weren't going to run it into the ground exactly the way they've done with food stamps, housing, and hundreds of other benefits.
User avatar #132 - whatupbiatch (06/10/2015) [-]
I agree that some of them seem extreme but 3 months isn't very long either.
User avatar #138 - thelastamerican (06/10/2015) [-]
Yeah, it wouldn't be, but we get a discount on about 3 different day care places as well. Usually the women will take off for the last month, sometimes the last two, then have the rest of the time with their kid. Either way, UPS is hands down the best company I've ever worked for.

what?
User avatar #83 - ninjaroo (06/10/2015) [-]
If a woman leaves for a few months and the company doesn't replace her during that time, the company goes under. So generally a woman comes back to find herself redundant, or their jobs have changed. That definitely makes progressing in a career harder.
User avatar #101 - Einsty (06/10/2015) [-]
Yeah well, when you find a better way to replicate humans, let me know.

But yeah, what you mentioned sucks. What do? Can't force the state to pay for all that. Hiring temporary help only gets you so far, but it seems like the best solutions. Idealy, an internship maybe, the would be mother can work during the first few months, she can provide training and supervision, then the intern is on their own, and the internship ends when she gets back. She won't lose her skills, keeps her job and everyone is happy.
Except the ones that are dead. Or sad.

The F-35 outperforms almost every 4th gen fighter by a mile. It's AoA is pretty much out of this world.
And it does all that with the ability to carry a higher total payload than most current fielded fighter jets as well.
Unfortunately it can not supercruise, but it's range and speed are still very much acceptable.

if battlefield 3 is anything to go by youre right, but its still more than the a-10 surely? also vtol adds to coolness factor whether its worth it or not

It's still a bit extreme, though not as much as before. Double check your dimensions (radius x diameter etc.) Look on the pictures of mountain ranges and you will see that rarely any slope is steeper than 45° or 60° if the mountain is not yet eroded.

This isn't the fixed verison, I should've mentioned that.

The fixed one will be done sometime tomorrow - It was quadruple the amount of polygons, and being rendered by a single 4GHz 8 core.
