Oh sweet! I graduate in May this year with my bachelors and Im hoping to get my officer commission soon. Not sure how Officer Training School differs from enlisted training but Im guessing it can't be tat different. I've heard that there are a lot of Team effort puzzles and challenge that need to be solved, like making a bridge using only a certain set of pieces.

Which ever branch you choose, I wish you the best of luck friend!

I've heard officer training is a bit harder but not too different it just depends on the branch of course. I'm majoring in criminal justice so the military translates well into law enforcement. What's your major?

If your heart is set on joining the military then let me give you 3 tips of advice

1) MAKE SURE YOU GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT ON PAPER BEFORE SIGNING THE FINAL PAPERWORK! Don't let the recruiter bullshit you with any of your questions. If he can't give you a straight answer on something and gives more of a general answer that applies to everyone else, then he's probably bullshitting you.

2) RESEARCH YOUR JOB! It took me 6 months to narrow down exactly what I wanted to do before I went to go see my recruiter and he actually helped me get something I would enjoy.

3) WHEN YOU GET TO BASIC TRAINING, DON'T EAT THE POWDERED EGGS! That goes for the omelette egg MREs too. They taste like shit and hardly give you any protien and in some cases can give you the runs. Plus I am unsure about the rumors that there is some kind of chemical in them that makes you sterile and unable to get an erection (seriously it took me 4 weeks to get hard, even in the mornings)

Other than that, try to "enjoy" your training. You'll form bonds with people from different states and gain some new friends. The instructors will yell at you but that's only because it's their job, remember that it's only a game in basic training and you gotta know how to play

I've learned about how recruiters can be from some of my classmates who are members of the branches I listed. My parents will be with me the entire time so that I don't miss anything important. I've got to do more research however on the specifics of what I want to do. Boot camp will be "fun" in the sense that since I am a senior in college looking to graduate this may, I would be theoretically going in as a second lieutenant which means I might out rank the instructors training me. I figured this will put a target on my back a little bit but I'd be surprised if it didn't honestly.
