I'm voting third party, not because I think they'll win, but because if they get enough votes maybe the 2-party system will finally break and people will realize NEXT TIME that they don't have to choose the lesser of two evils.
I'm not voting in support of Republican or Democrat, I'm voting against the notion that those two clubs get to take turns being in charge.

Everyone gets one vote, and the person with the majority of votes wins.

What this typically means is that candidates with similar platforms end up taking up each others votes, so say you have two right leaning candidates and one left leaning. 60% of the population votes for either of the right leaning candidates, let's say they get equal votes at about 30% each. The left leaning candidate gets 40% of the votes. Despite 60% of the population voting for a right leaning candidate, a left leaning one was voted in instead. This is why third party ends up hurting the people who vote for them, and why the two party system has become nearly impossible to break.
