Circumcision is hygenic in the same way that cutting any other part of your body off is.
It's not.
It's the equivalent of removing your tongue and lower jaw so you won't have to brush your teeth.

To actually clean it right you have to pull your foreskin back and clean under it, a lot of people don't do that, yes even in europe.
This is coming from a guy who isn't even circumsized, I can understand why people would find it better to be cut and look more clean and attractive to most girls.

It's also a well known fact that dirt and bacteria collect under the fingernails, I don't see you cutting those off.
This isn't an excision of some dangerous organ.
It's genital mutilation.
Circumcision removes the man's equivalent of clitoris, in terms of sensitivity. And if anyone tells you any different, I'd suggest having a long talk with whoever's holding the shovel. Because that ain't chocolate.

#153 - wiseagain (07/18/2016) [-]
There are some scummy fucking tricks you can pull in this life, but going anon to play a strawman in favor of genital mutilation is near the top of the most appalling.
I know you're circumcised. Because no uncut person would say "it's tedious to have to clean it all the time"
If you saw a woman online saying "Omg this clit keeps getting in the way I think I'm just gonna get a pair of wire cutters and snip it off lol" would you believe it?
Fuck no.

Let me break it down for you:
The foreskin is the most sensitive part of the penis. Everything that touches the frenulum, a part of the foreskin, feels amazing.
The foreskin is an important part of how the penis works during sex, and removing it has shown to cause, among other things, erectile dysfunction, inability to orgasm, pain during sex, less pleasure during sex, and difficulty masturbating.

It's doesn't make you STD proof, it does make you less sensitive, and while you still have to clean it, if you're willing to cut off your son's hand so he doesn't have to clean his fingernails, then you likely have serious OCD, and should see a therapist.

All circumcision does is remove the key point of pleasure in sex for men, make already easily preventable diseases less likely, and make it so you don't have to clean an extra 0.4 percent of your body.
The only reason it became commonplace in America is literally because Puritans wanted to make it harder to masturbate.

No, if you live in a third world country where it is more difficult to clean yourself, the foreskin could pose infection issues. It completely understandable for a third world parent to do it, just as it is for a 1st world parent to vaccinate.
User avatar
#88 - wiseagain (07/16/2016) [-]

User avatar
#123 - wiseagain (07/16/2016) [-]
You don't understand what it's like to have a foreskin.
It's actually akin to a clitoris. Better, even.
Because the clitoris is just for pleasure, whereas the foreskin both gives pleasure and is an important part of the penis.
And even if all that wasn't true, it doesn't matter.

"Genital mutilation is okay if"
It's not.
It is not an acceptable course of action in any case.
#44 - anon (07/16/2016) [-]
Yeah man, better keep that bacteria sponge on my kids dick that increases risk of getting STDs and keep pushing the Left agenda fear mongering that your dick looses all feeling in 40 years despite science saying otherwise.

Fuck off, there is not one fucking thing wrong with circumcisions. It's cleaner, less itchy and less infections. -Signed a person who got one at 21 because of medical reasons.
User avatar

True that it could be an infection hazard but if you aren't a disgusting piece of shit who doesn't clean himself regularly there is literally no difference.
User avatar
#23 - peanutoranges (07/16/2016) [-]
What's the reasoning behind either side of the circumcision argument?

All I've heard is that a circumsizmo is easier to clean and that there's no huge difference apart from that. Then again, I've never seen a penis in real life before.
#47 - anon (07/16/2016) [-]
It's easier to clean and you have a 0.5% chance less of contracting STDs. But, now you have a slightly higher risk of getting Urinary Track Infections, which is no problem because medicine. Then there's the rumor that's been debunked so many times it's actually cringe worthy that people still use it, that you'll loose ALL feeling in your dick by the time you're 50 which is bullshit unless your circumcision was botched.

In short, get it if you want, don't get it. It doesn't matter at all but having mine removed by choice not only do I feel better it's much fucking cleaner. I remember when I had it and cleaned it daily I still caught a rare bacteria that I was pretty much forced to have it removed.
#125 - wiseagain (07/16/2016) [-]
You won't loose all feeling by 50, but you'll loose most of it, as you're slicing off the most sensitive part of your body.
#40 - anon (07/16/2016) [-]
The cleaner thing is basically just for dirty people. It takes all of 5 seconds to clean your dick.
There is no proof that it helps prevent STD's and the only thing I've seen say it makes a difference, it was something like a 0.057% difference. So that argument is a load of bull as well.

The only reason people should be circumcised is if they need one for medical purposes.

The foreskin protects the head of the penis, which prevents it rubbing on clothes or just generally from touching everything. Because the head of the penis is not 'bared to the elements', it stays soft, sensitive and healthy.
Circumcised penis heads lose a lot of sensitivity as they age because they have to toughen up due to being touched and chaffed against everything. It has lost it's protective covering. It is also more sensitive to drying and skin cracking because of the need to toughen up.
This happens through age though, of course someone in their 20s probably wouldn't be too badly affected, but by the time they're in the 40s and above, their sensitivity is undoubtedly drastically less than someone not cut.

On another note, it's done without anestheic and causes a lot of babies to go into shock, this is what happens when people claim their baby 'slept through it'. There are a lot of botched circumcisions that leave a guy with a damaged or outright ruined penis, or sometimes, with no penis.
Personally I would say any parent who mutilates their child without good cause is an unfit parent.
User avatar
#30 - karenoniks (07/16/2016) [-]
Easier to clean is an argument made by filthy bums, I shower daily and cleaned my dick for about 10 seconds and never had dick cheese in my life.
Also foreskin helps me masturbate without using stupid shit like lotion, also your dickhead isn't dried out on daily basis.
Not to mention, this procedure has a death risk! No matter how small a death risk is, if you are willing to take it, just for a cosmetic operation (which it isn't, you lose a lot) then you are an ignorant parent.
Also, there is argument "no more STD's!" that is fucking retarded because a baby isn't supposed to have sex!
If your child is old enough to have sex then it's old enough to get circumcised himself, which of course it fucking won't, that's why the decision is made when they are a baby.
It was a campaign to stop masturbation, not only did it not succeed but it also made horrible decision that dilusional people try to justify.
User avatar
#106 - hiukuss (07/16/2016) [-]
It is easier to clean, but doesn't mean uncircumcised dicks are filthy.

And if you have to use lube to masturbate when you're circumcised, then you need to learn how to masturbate properly because that's unnecessary.
User avatar
#110 - karenoniks (07/16/2016) [-]
I never said that it's for everyone, I said just it generally helps me, I heard people masturbating with lotion, that's why I said it, no matter what you want to argue about, there are people that masturbate with lotion, so I said that I didn't need lotion for it.
Also, it's not easier to clean, both not washing and washing it for 5 seconds is both easy, I guess it's technically true, but raising your hand 20cm is technically harder than raising your hand 19cm, so it's a null argument, because a non-retarded person can do both just as easily.
User avatar
#111 - hiukuss (07/16/2016) [-]
That's what I meant by easier, even if by a small margin. I should've clarified.
#64 - anon (07/16/2016) [-]
Let's ignore the cleanliness argument entirely.

Circumcision is good for preventing phimosis.
I masturbate just fine every day without lotion or any lube.
Some women prefer it, some don't.

I don't advocate for making a baby get circumcised without it being able to choose, but there are definite reasons for an adult to do so.
User avatar
#138 - thundergyra (07/16/2016) [-]
>I don't advocate for making a baby get circumcised without it being able to choose, but there are definite reasons for an adult to do so.

Fucking thank you. Everyone else ITT seems to be missing this point.

If a child does not have a good health reason for genital mutilation, they don't need it and their parents should not be allowed to force it upon them. If they decide as an adult that they want to chop bits of their dick off because bumfuck jews 2000 years ago didn't have proper hygiene, then by all means, go for it.
#48 - anon (07/16/2016) [-]
Circumcision here, never used lotions either, have always dry handed because pre-cum lubes it up nice.
Git Good pleb.

User avatar
#113 - teedoubler (07/16/2016) [-]
Ultimately, though, if you want to be circumcised and you aren't, that can be fixed. It's not super-pleasant, but it can be fixed pretty easily.

If you want to be UNCIRCUMCISED and you are, however, you're shit out of luck.

Since there are people in both categories, it is clearly the correct solution to not circumcise so that everyone ends up with what they want.

User avatar
#108 - cumbersome (07/16/2016) [-]
The sti bit is a myth (and not a true one), and the smegma is fixed with good hygiene. The foreskin also contains a lot of nerves, so being cut will rob you of some sexual stimulation. That, and the fact that accidents and infections can cause pain, disfigurement, or even death, makes it not worth it to me. I've been with cut and uncut, and there is no difference for me. Same sensation, same blowjob technique, and same smell if they're not washed. But if you're cut and happy with it, great. I've heard of a lot of guys that are cut and not happy, though, and it's such a shame to me that they have to deal with that.

I was circumcised at 2 years old because of an infection.
I also have part of the remaining foreskin attached to the head of my penis on the left side. I'm talking to a urologist about having it cut, so it's not attached anymore. There's a "hole" between the remaining foreskin and the underside of the head of my penis. It constantly gets filthy and fills with smegma after sex with my wife if I don't thoroughly clean it with a cotton swab.

I don't remember the procedure, or anything from that time in my life.

Should I have had the choice to make the decision to not be circumcised?
No. My parents made the decision because it was for my health.

Children under a certain age do not get a choice in medical care. It's up to the parents to make the correct choice for them.

I believe he meant ones that don't do it for a medical reason like yours. It's understandable if they do it when it imposes an immediate health risk if it's not done, but when parents simply do it at birth isn't the same thing.
User avatar
#10 - Tusura (07/16/2016) [-]
I had my two boys circumcised at birth.

I would rather they have it done then, than have something happen at a later point and have them remember the procedure.

Every male in my family for 3 generations at least has had infections that require circumcision. Sometimes it happens early. Others happened much later into adulthood.

It's a preventative measure. I felt it was the right call to make at the time, and I don't regret doing so.

I understand the benefits of having the procedure done, or not done.
I'm extremely medically educated, as I've spent most of my life in and out of medical care for a multitude of reasons.

Sometimes it's just better to get it done early, rather than risk having complications down the road.

Could they have been uncircumcised and had no medical issues? Sure. It's possible.
I'd rather not take that risk though.
User avatar
#52 - haroldsaxon (07/16/2016) [-]
More chance of getting hit by a car than getting foreskin issues. Both sides have a plethora of issues and a friend used "why take the risk" as an argument against circumcision.

I don't know enough to say what is better for certain, but decreasing risk is certainly not an argument for either side.

Sorry but no. Being ill and needing doctors to look after you doesn't make you medically educated. You have experienced a lot of illness, sure, but you are not medically educated. How arrogant are you to think being ill means you're 'extremely medically educated'?
You just take the drugs you're told to take and behave as you're told to, while the actual medically educated people do the work.
User avatar
#57 - Tusura (07/16/2016) [-]
I research medicine and medical care.

I'd rather know what I'm talking about when I go to see a doctor.
They tell me stuff, and I end up finishing the sentences they are saying.

I'm medically educated because I choose to be. I don't just let the doctor do whatever they want. I research options, and know what is needed before I go see a doctor.

That way, the doctor and I can agree on a procedure or medication type instead of just having the doctor give me something that I know nothing about prior to receiving it.

I cut out the guess work. I make the doctors job easier with the knowledge I have attained on my own.
If I had been even slightly motivated as a teenager, I could have become a doctor quite easily.

Right, so you had a good medical reason to have it done, which is completely fine.

Why are you even arguing? There are still many people that have their kids circumcised simply because "I want him to look like me" , which is a shit reason. You don't have your child's lip sliced in half simply because you were born with a harelip and you want the kid to look like you, so why is it OK to do it to the child's foreskin? Exactly, its not.

And that's just 1 of the stupid reasons people have come up with. If you're so concerned about the kid having to take a shower once in a while why don't you have all its nails pulled out as well, so the kid doesn't get dirt under there... see where I'm going with this?
