sharks have gills, sharks can breath air,
they can force air to pass through their gills. nature is weird man.
sure they suffocate, but they can stay longer period of times above water than normal fish.

For a short period of time it is possible- but drawing air leads to the accumulation of nitrogen bubbles in their gills which is very painful and fatal. I've necropsied fish who have had their environment over aerated and you will find similar results. a few species of sharks are designed to live in tide pools and be exposed to air for longer periods of time than most, such as epaulettes... but to generalize and say sharks and rays can breathe air is a misinformation.

in novas case i think she was too young, like 3 years old now 9, if you introduce a male while the birds are hormonal they might bond easier while the rest of the time they will push away more often.
well you're spot on, males are more social and are willing to do stuff and are subservient, they are also weak against stress in the house.
females are dominant and tend to boss the males around and rarely talk or learn any tricks plus they are much tougher.
that being said nova doesn't act like either, she doesn't usually talk but is super nice and gentle and doesn't seem bossy with other birds either, then again she was the strange one at the breeders place.

How about I peck your shit Your bird reminds me of this one

the fullness of it's green and then abrupt black of the eye gives me chills

also it kinda reminds me of this guy if he were green, maybe there was another guy I'm thinking of but I can't put my finger on it
#116 - novabird (07/26/2016) [-]
species has a black ring in the eye that makes them look that way.
#140 - kyleassante (07/26/2016) [-]
I remembered what I was thinking of
<--

I appreciate the info but in the one you posted it has the green then like a gray ring, then orange then black where as hers just has green and black

Maybe it's not so much the as much as it;s the head shape and beak placement. the little dot for an eye just adds to it but all birds have dot eyes so I can't really count that as a thing.

Now, imagine if birds had people eyes, that'd be weird

whoops~ I just woke up

her bird has a huge black eye because he's happy and relaxed, parrots communicate emotion with their bodies and eyes.
the pic i posted is same species on high alert.
this is a different species ready too attack with the eyes pinned down.

nice, wanna get a male when i can but they cost a good bit more and i don't make much lately.
granted a breeders male tried approaching her and she pushed them away, doesn't act like most female ekkes i have seen.

Yeah having the pair is so awesome, but female ekkies can be SUPER picky about their mates. I rehomed a female around the same age as Loki, and she was super cool except she absolutely hated him and spent every waking moment trying to attack him so I had to rehome her to a couple who spoils the crap out of her. I feel like females are really confident and sassy and males are more sweet and shy- and together they make the perfect duo.
