Really the only changes I notice are faster transistions and the shitty notifications. it feels like they wasted so much space.

kinda falls under step 15 also with compatibility, but that's a good note as well. (These notes will be included in the comp.) thks!

sometimes retailers don't list the entire specs so it can become an unexpected problem. But you should be able to find the full specs for intel cpus at ark.intel.com/.

this is also a nice little thing intel put together to help explain their naming scheme. www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/processor-numbers.html

Aw shit i suck at reading I guess.

but one more thing on the whole gpu/cpu/mobo thing.
sometimes even if a mobo has enough pciex16 slots for 3 or 4 way sli it does not mean the cpu will support it. so for instance if you want 3 way sli with a 4790k you need a special mobo to go with it since the 4790k only supports 16 lanes enough for 2 way sli and the 5820k needs a special mobo for 4 way since it only has 28 lanes 5930k has 40 lanes.

a small thread with some more info www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2286036/wtf-plx-chips.html

Your CPU determines your RAM and Mobo.

NEVER cheap out on your CPU.

And there's this fancy thing called the "description" or "specification" tab on most e-tailers that give you information about the hardware component.
User avatar #30089 - orgasmpirate (16 hours ago) [-]
good call out though. that's the kind of shit I'm talking about.
User avatar #30088 - orgasmpirate (16 hours ago) [-]
well, I'd like to think that the CPU is the most important and should come first, but maybe I'll revise it switch the mobo and graphics #'s.
#30105 - anonexplains (14 hours ago) [-]
I would choose gpu, then cpu, then overall compatible mobo. That way there's no loss of performance on gpu or cpu side.
User avatar #30090 - CatHatMan (15 hours ago) [-]
Another thing to factor in is fan/radiator mounts and heatsink clearance with ram. Making an itx build with an fx8350 and r9 290x seems like asking for a noisy, hot mess.

Pour a small blob of thermal paste directly on to your CPU. In fact, pour a bit more. Fuck that shit up. Wipe your tube off on the MB, who gives a fuck.

Now evenly spread the thermal paste over your CPU using your credit card. Actually, rub that pasty bullshit over your socket, it's your PC, do what the fuck you want. When you twist and jerk your stock cooler onto your pasty, ugly CPU, make sure that that creamy goodness leaks all over your RAM slots and capacitors. Fuck your nerd shit and fuck you for building a PC.
