Except this post misses two things;
1. The Batman's philosophy is to not kill in general. Joker just so happens to fall under the rule and Batman refuses to make any exception. He (in conjunction with the Justice League) has faced far greater and more nefarious foes than the Joker and he still carries the same intent to imprison, not execute, unless absolutely necessary to stop the grand plot of said villain.
2. The Joker is happy to kill the Batman. That's really not hard to get. He's shot, blown up, and buried Batman in many other ways and was rather agitated to find the Bat still alive and in one piece in all sorts of comics and animated renditions. Forcing Batman to kill him is simply the only thing he can do when he's actually caught by him that would ruin him in the long-term. Yeah, he's had arcs where his sole intent was to mentally demolish the Bat instead of outright killing him, but he's had even moreso attempts at his life than his mind all throughout.
That Reddit Post reads like someone who's only source of Batman content is the Dark Knight (and a rather miserable interpretation of it to boot).
User avatar #79 - megaton (07/26/2015) [-]
but he doesnt want to kill the batman.his whole goal is to corrupt the batman's morals, make him fail at the things he wants the most to succeed at. he even refuses to acknowledge the fact that the batman has a secret identity since it litterally does not matter to the joker, though he has allegedly known it since a week after he became the joker when he followed batman home and left his calling card in his lair and bruce wayne visited him in prison and literally told him that he was batman but then the joker just hit a mental reset button and acted like he never heard that. though this is all new 52 information and also has it that the joker has had dozens of harley quinns before our currently known version. its really quite interesting if you read the storyline of batman death in the family.
User avatar #89 - akkere (07/26/2015) [-]
He doesn't have a central goal. That's the thing people don't realize about the Joker; he's organized to a point. In some arcs, he's genuinely trying to kill the Batman. In others, he's trying to convert or at least break the Batman, but usually to settle some other central goal. At some points he's even trying to simply irritate the Batman.

Joker functions on a process more than anything else less; when he's on his feet and fighting, his goal is to kill or get rid of the Batman. When he's on a point of defeat, he's trying to break the Batman or have him help him in something else. He's not functioning solely to fulfill one goal or the other because he's purely insane. Everything does revolve around the Batman, yes, but breaking him isn't the sole and solitary "How" to the equation. He's quite content to have him dead, so long as it's by his own bleached hands.

Ah I believe Ive seen that video actually. Mostly what I know about superman's powers are from the Goku vs Superman deathbattles. I understand some of that is thrown a bit out of proportion for the entertainment, but still they are feats he did accomplish. That is a pretty kick ass way to kill him though haha
User avatar #34 - toosexyforyou (07/24/2015) [-]
1 thing to always know about Superman is that he always holds back. Superman literally has to hold back and be super careful about every single punch that he throws. It doesn't matter if Superman gets weakened and it doesn't matter if his opponent is using everything he's got to try and kill him, Superman always holds back as much as he can.
#35 - kanbabrif (07/24/2015) [-]
Considering he could probably punch the universe in half if he so decided, and if he so wanted the movie could end in one punch thrown faster than light itself could move. It makes sense how much hes has to hold back, but I wish the movies (or upcoming movie) would show or explain this. It would make it more clear to the majority of people how powerful he really is and how careful he must be to not destroy the fucking solar system.
User avatar #36 - toosexyforyou (07/24/2015) [-]
The person who comes up with a story that is realistic enough to show Batman beating Superman will be a very rich man. The only way for Batman to even put a scratch on Superman is plot armor, anyone who knows how strong and smart Superman actually is knows this. They make all of the superhero movies so that people who haven't heard of any of the heroes before would still be able to understand the movie and since the majority of the people paying to watch the movies don't read the comics, it's very easy for the writers to hide the massive amounts of plot armor that Batman needs to even be in the Justice League.

Ah I got you...guess that make sense considering it would be impossible to beat him alone. Hasn't supes flown through stars before? I mean that seems like more than the power of one nuke being detonated on him. It is pretty unfair that he can just regenerate as soon as the ash clears, and seems like a short victory.
User avatar #27 - Captainunhelpful (07/24/2015) [-]
I dont know the surrounding canon of that. sometimes superman is second to none, others he's just incredibly strong. varies from comic to comic, show to show. Batman did say he could have made it fatal if he'd just made the kryptonite gas stick to his lungs without dissipating and suffocate him to death. (Pretty kickass gloating sequence at the end, can find on youtube)

Just seem really predictable you know? We know superman can't win because he is supposed to be the "brawn" (while we all know he is quite intelligent) and Batman is the "Brains".
User avatar #25 - Captainunhelpful (07/24/2015) [-]
Spoilers as to how its done, which I thought was fair enough.

Actually in the Dark Knight Returns pt2 (what its based off of) supes gets hit by a nuclear warhead point blank, which is damaging to him enough but the subsequent ash cloud blocking out the sun keeps him from regenerating too much. Thats the reason robot batman can get anywhere near his strength but even then superman is recovering too much and I believe shatters bats ribcage or something like that. A retired green arrow though hits him with a kryptonite tipped arrow that turns into a gas as superman catches it, then bonds to his lungs temporarily KOing him. So though batman developed it really Green Arrow wins in a fight between the two.

Sounds like you've been trolled pretty hard in the past.

Maybe it's time you either grow up and learn how to deal with it, or go somewhere else more suited to your delicate sensibilities.

Nope. Follow the habit of 'hide all' any time a new one pops up, though im sure you have one of your own. Check my name color compared to your own, the only rugrat here is you, kiddo. Buh-bye, go slink away to someone elses profile because you are too much of a coward to be under public scrutiny without a fake account.

Ahaha, and yet, still a lighter color than me kiddo. Disposable accounts, you really must be one of the dime a dozen losers with a legit troll account. Oh well, another to the list of not wasting my time.
