Easiest way to tell the difference between a Mossberg and Remmington is that Mossbergs have the ambidextrous safety on top of the receiver, and not a crossbolt safety on the trigger guard.

Remington shotguns have steel receivers and have that less of shiny look, the guys receiver looks like a typical aluminum Mossberg receiver. Also the location of the pins on the receiever are farther apart on Mosserg shotguns than Remington.
