LMAO, fucks still don't realize they have to work hard even with a degree, youre not special, shits not gonna get handed to you just cause you got a piece of paper. Fucks probably got no work experience, but expects to get a top level job. Fucks still gotta work their way from the bottom to the top, but they just too used to mommy and daddy wiping their ass so they move back to their basement and complain about no jobs. Welcome to the real world.
If you're able to find decent work in a STEM field that doesn't require experience, please, let me know because I'd love to get in on your secret.
I did, i had a job paying very well right out of college as an engineer. Really the only trick I had was take every work oppurtunity (even the shitty ones) i could get all through college, and i also got dual degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering with a decent gpa. The only way employers will even look at you is if you have experience working, even if that work is at mcdonalds (one of the places i worked).
How do you get work experience when everyone wants work experience before they even look at you?
Even for volunteering.
They also misleadingly advertise the type of jobs that a degree will qualify you for. For example, they'll advertise an undergrad biotech degree as leading to certain jobs with certain income brackets. Then you get the degree and start searching for those entry level jobs, and the entry level positions all require a masters degree & 2-4 years previous work experience in the field... and only pay a few bucks over minimum wage. I made a better hourly wage shoveling hay & horse shit and mowing lawns for neighbors when I was 12 in the 90s than I do now at 31 with $40,000 worth of biotech education. Thanks globalism & debt based economics. FML.
So this is exactly what I'm currently dealing with in Chemical Engineering (albeit the reason for us having a hard time is in large part due to the economy suddenly tanking
Obama didn't necessarily cause it, but he sure hasn't fucking helped either. literally within months of Trump's win, investment started flying in and suddenly we're seeing local positions opening up for the first time in years
But a rule of thumb for the "minimum work experience" requirement is that anything less than 4 or 5 years, you can apply even with little to no industrial experience. Can't promise you the job
which is currently my problem because even though jobs are opening up, people who've been laid off the last two years are the preferential alternative to recent college grads
, but you're also likely to get considered despite the lack of industrial experience. Any "minimum" less than 4 years (especially 2 years) is usually just a preference; you can still get to interview stage if you're lucky enough
How's this for a shitty degree course:
Starting in 2009 i studied CS where we were taught such out of date tech as assembler on a risc MIPS cpu, java 1.4, and Z formal specification.
What kind of shitty CS course teachs technologies and not actual science, though? You can learn machine language in any assembler, as long as you get the concepts down you can hop on to a more marketable one, same for oop.
I had a class about social networking for businesses that taught us how to make a facebook page and post to instagram and twitter.
3 months and over 2 grand for what any retard can do. That was the only class I ever ditched.
