I don't plan on going just there, I never just go to one city in whatever country I stay That will defeat the purpose of going backpacking . But I will definately be staying there for a few days.

I was just curious, I plan these trips for once a year, and I want to get as much info as I can from locals. Currently, I have a plan to visit Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark for a week respectively. I want to get Iceland in there but it's quite expensive to get there.

Well I never go alone, that's another tip, never go alone, go with a friend or a group of friends.

Are you from Oslo or around the area? I know it's a big city and it has it bad sides, but I have heard so many good things when I go to Europe about Norway.

Sandefjord. 2 hours south of Oslo. Oslo is nice, but is not what Norway has to offer. If you go to Norway for Oslo you might as well go to any other generic big city.

Why not Oslo? I was actually really looking forward to going there.

Backpacking can be daunting at first, but once you do it, it becomes almost like an addiction
It's all about planning and research. Europe is pretty backpacking friendly, lot's of public showers and shelters. The most important part is planning your routes and how to get to them, setting up a budget and sticking to it. I also like to have a phone when I go, so I usually buy a cheap prepaid once Im there just to have something for emergencies.

Don't JUST go to Oslo. Don't go to just Oslo alone, too many people ake that mistake. Go see some fjords and nature and birds pooping.

I've been to Spain I have family there. , England, Scotland, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, and Russia.

I go backpacking for a month at a time, gives me lot's of time to travel and see new things as well as being easy on my wallet. This year I spend about 1 week in Netherlands, another in Belgium and the last two in England.

I planning on going to the Scandinavian countries next year, since I've never been, and I've always wanted to.
